I tried to find the L4530B on the Kubota site with no luck. I can tell you I am in the prosess of trying to get a L4560 3ph BH mounted on a L3710. There is more to it than just backing up to it and hooking it up. On the L3710, you need to change the ROPS and add a subframe. Now after spending over $1,100.00 on these parts it looks like there may be an additional bracket needed on the BH. Have not gotten a price on it yet!

My guess (and it is only a guess) is the L4530B is the little brother of the L4560. So you may need to research the mounting of this BH. If you can find out what it was off of, it may help.

I am not sure if this is of any help, but this seems to be all the info I can find on the L4560 and the BL4690B on the Kubota site..

Kubota site

It might be a place to start.

Good luck,

Gary

Thanks for the information, that helps some. I have also tried the kubota site. The person that has the hoe used it on a ford 3000. It's fairly small looking to me,maybe 6' digging depth, just guessing.

Gary, I bought an L4560 BH for my 4610 from the dealer a year ago and it was sold as a complete package from the dealer, although they did have to locate the taller ROPS separate from the hoe and subframe kit. Don't think there was any other bracket involved, but we have different model tractors, so your mileage may vary on that.

The L4560 was still orderable from Kubota at that time, but availability was getting scarce and while it was not cheap, it's a real hoss. You and your 3710 will definitely know it's there!

If you are buying the hoe new, your dealer should likewise be able to get you the whole thing so you do not have to buy separate pieces. By the way, the 4560 is a 4pt subframe unit, not a 3pt type.

Grandad,

This is a used tractor and BH I found down in Texas(165 hours on the L3710 and the BH has had very little use). I am going by my phone calls with the dealer who admits this is the first time they have mated the two. Last I heard they had the subframe and ROPS on and were about to mate the BH, they said it looked like something was missing and they were waiting for word from Kubota.

I spoke to Kubota a few weeks ago and they say the same as you, "this is a Bad Boy BH, but it will work just fine on the 3710". Since I have found Kubota to be very conservative with their products, I think / hope this will work out. We will soon find out!!!!

May I ask what impressions you have after a year with it? Any problems, recommendations?

Twin88cam,

Before you purchase it, make sure you can still get the mounting hardware for your tractor. From my limited experience, it can be a possible problem.

Good luck,

Gary

I CAN HANDLE THE MOUNTING OF THE HOE IF I COULD FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO WORK ON.
THANKS

I have been using the hoe mostly for de-stumping on our property. So far we've ripped out about 100 what I would call medium-sized pine and hardwood stumps (up to 24" dia.) we've had to remove for a workshop building going up this spring.

The hoe works great with an 18" bucket for this application. It easily cuts roots 3" and under with a single pass and will split larger roots in a few bites. It has something like 6,000 lbs of curl force, which is enough to dislodge some really large root balls. Anything under maybe 2,000 lbs, you can simply pick up with the bucket and tote it around.

We've had only two minor problems with the hoe... one caused by my inexperience and the other more a design issue.

First problem: Inexperienced operator running PTO at too high rpm, giving maximum flow to the PTO pump = very jerky operation. Appears I wounded the swing cylinders so they weep slightly. Does not affect operation, but I will work on them when the current project is over. Have since found operating at 1,600-1,700 rpm produces full pressure/force but allows me to feather the joysticks better at my level of skill.

A design problem: The sleeve for attaching the PTO pump to the PTO shaft is held on the pump shaft by a single Allen-type set screw, which simply cannot be torqued down enough to keep it secured to the keyed shaft of the pump. It's no fun getting the pump re-mounted to the PTO after it falls off while you're out digging in the dirt! Homebrew solution was to drill and tap for 2 additional set screws, which have solved the problem. This would be something I would ask the dealer to do before delivery.

Aside from those problems, I am impressed and satisfied with the BH. Major likes: close-in fit to tractor... you can move from tractor seat to BH seat without getting off the tractor, subframe adds protection to undercarriage of tractor without compromising ground clearance, easy to put on/take off. Issues to be aware of: BH weighs 2,000+ lbs... your 3710 will be back-heavy; you need a 10ft. clearance to bring it indoors with the hoe in the transport position, and you need 9 ft. just for the taller ROPS when the BH is removed. Also be aware your center of gravity will be higher, so use extra caution on any slopes, etc.
