I have been using the hoe mostly for de-stumping on our property. So far we've ripped out about 100 what I would call medium-sized pine and hardwood stumps (up to 24" dia.) we've had to remove for a workshop building going up this spring.
The hoe works great with an 18" bucket for this application. It easily cuts roots 3" and under with a single pass and will split larger roots in a few bites. It has something like 6,000 lbs of curl force, which is enough to dislodge some really large root balls. Anything under maybe 2,000 lbs, you can simply pick up with the bucket and tote it around.
We've had only two minor problems with the hoe... one caused by my inexperience and the other more a design issue.
First problem: Inexperienced operator running PTO at too high rpm, giving maximum flow to the PTO pump = very jerky operation. Appears I wounded the swing cylinders so they weep slightly. Does not affect operation, but I will work on them when the current project is over. Have since found operating at 1,600-1,700 rpm produces full pressure/force but allows me to feather the joysticks better at my level of skill.
A design problem: The sleeve for attaching the PTO pump to the PTO shaft is held on the pump shaft by a single Allen-type set screw, which simply cannot be torqued down enough to keep it secured to the keyed shaft of the pump. It's no fun getting the pump re-mounted to the PTO after it falls off while you're out digging in the dirt! Homebrew solution was to drill and tap for 2 additional set screws, which have solved the problem. This would be something I would ask the dealer to do before delivery.
Aside from those problems, I am impressed and satisfied with the BH. Major likes: close-in fit to tractor... you can move from tractor seat to BH seat without getting off the tractor, subframe adds protection to undercarriage of tractor without compromising ground clearance, easy to put on/take off. Issues to be aware of: BH weighs 2,000+ lbs... your 3710 will be back-heavy; you need a 10ft. clearance to bring it indoors with the hoe in the transport position, and you need 9 ft. just for the taller ROPS when the BH is removed. Also be aware your center of gravity will be higher, so use extra caution on any slopes, etc.
