I don't know about others, but I buy close to home as my machines work for a living, and if I cannot get parts or service ASAP, the down time hurts bad. I see no value in searching for the lowest price to save a few dollars on a large ticket iyem only to have it haunt you down the road. Try having your local dealers competitor's sticker on your machine and you want it fixed by your local, closest dealer......where you didn't buy it. Back of the line! Loyalty has value and so do relationships. Our dealer, Chappell, and our family go back 3 generations business wise, and I feel we both benefit from it. I expect them to be in the ballpark, but I am not going to balk at a slight premium if there is one.

I agree completly with what you are saying. I also like to buy locally, but the price on the M59 you quoted was ten grand higher!!! Now that's not a "Slight premium" by any chance.

I know, a quote that high, $52+/- no thumb but with front Hyd., seems high, but the prices I hear from others seem way to low comparing to what I pay for others stuff which has been discussed on these threads. L48s are around $40K up here, I would love to see a M59 for only slightly more, but up here in NH it is unheard of. In fact, I would have 1 L48 and 1 M59 instead of 2 L48s as I have now, but the pricing difference made a huge impact on my decision. I would love one, but not at what they go for up here. Although ..........some day I will need one. Any word on L45 pricing, not a peep in this thread.

curtisfarmer, I'm not going to post what I paid on here, but I'd really suggest you call Messicks. I'll just say that I called Chapell, and they weren't a slight premium - enormous is more what I'd call it. Messicks had the m59 at a very reasonable premium to the L48.

Of course, prices may well have gone up since July when I bought it.

Whooooahhhh.....way too much for something that isn't better than a L48. Do other people feel that way or is it just me? Put at L48 next to a L45 at those prices and see for yourself. No doubt in my mind, L48 all the way. L45, tiny tires for a machine spec.ed out for such capacity. A L48 is cheaper, why bother?

given that the L48 is not available any more, and that the L39/L45 is 90% of the capacity of the L48, it does not really seem that far out of the line.

I disagree, at those posted prices, $47K with aux. thumb hyd, 3pt, and both buckets, $7K more than L48 is much more $ for far less machine. And as I always say, park a L39/45 next to a full frame size L48 or M59 and make your own judgement. Frame and tires are too small. Just my opinion.
