L4701 Locked wheels

My 2501 is tough to get out of 4wd too. Goes in easily. But due to bind in the system, will not come out. If you pick up the front end with the loader, you will see the tires turn a slight amount and the bind is gone. Shifts easily then.
Same for my old L3200 & new L4060. I just apply pressure to the lever while moving slowly & it pops out. Occasionally have to back up while pushing on the lever to relieve the bind. The loader lift method works too, but I really dont use it.

Similar issue with every 2 or 3 speed HST tranny I've ever shifted. You often need to bump the go pedal or let off the brakes to let it roll VERY slowly so you can get the gears to mesh in properly when shifting.

My L6060 can at times be difficult to get out of FWD. Depending on how difficult I either use extra force or then rock it back and forth. Since the front and rear tires are not a perfect match even when using the book sizes, there is always wind up and difficulty getting out of FWD can be related to ground conditions. For example if I am in FWD pulling out to one of our gravel roads (turning difference in addition to not 100% tire match), it can be very difficult and I will need to back up a touch. I know it would be better to take it out of FWD when still on soft ground but then again that is why I have FWD - the ground may be too soft to move.

I am not aware ever had problem shifting OUT of 4 wheel drive unless had run it on hard ground and then often it is in a bind. Hard on 4 wheel drive system.

Strange my L6060HSTC has shifted very easy in and out of 4wd. Tractors I had in the past were very difficult to disengage sometimes. I haven’t shifted the L60 out of 4wd too much so I’ll have to try a few more times and see.

The biggest problem I have with the L60 is going between low medium and high. I have to have a very slight roll going usually or it won’t shift into a different range.

Recently purchased a L 4701 with front loader and backhoe with quick hitch. It was delivered on 6/18/18. I have since then removed the backhoe and set up a quick hitch with my woods rotary cutter. Keep in mind only 8.5hrs on machine at this point. On 6/26 I took the machine down the road in 4th high range in 2 wheel drive to mow a lot I recently purchased, the tractor locked up after about 1 mile down the road when I reduced the speed. Nearly threw me off the tractor. Tried restarting it and moving it in 4wheel drive, 2wheel drive and high and low range. I even put the tractor in neutral and would still not move. Dealer picked up the tractor and cutter after notifying them I was on the road, stuck. MY question is should I take this tractor back after such an incident. Under warranty but who knows what damage was done and what problems I would have down the road after warranty. When this happened I noticed grinding noise at both the gear shift area and front axle. I am new to this forum and this is my first Kubota. Any comments or suggestions on my recourse would be appreciated. Right now I am pretty sick about it. Thanks

THIS EXACT thing happened to me on 8/16. Still Waiting on the dealer to pick up mine and take it in.

I was dragging a horse arena, high gear but now eight and it about threw me off. I was able to use the bucket to move the tracker several inches forward and backwards.... and appeared to start working... then about 100 feet lock up again. Turned it off and there it sat.

Do you have your serial number, I am going to call the dealer and let them know.

I purchased mine in April 18, its has 120 hours on it Located in Louisburg NC.
