L6060 Cab Questions

My dealer recommended the upgraded alternator (90a), but I declined. I ordered front and rear lights, rear glass defroster only (not quarter glass). After switching the work lights to led, and replacing all bulbs to led, fully lit I'm drawing about 27 amps.

That's not including the defroster grid which I'm sure is a big load. With all lights and defroster on the voltage still remains between 13.5-13.8v, which tells me I haven't quite exceeded the alternator capacity. Anyway, after almost 5 years of use I haven't had any battery or alternator problems. I probably should do the alternator upgrade though.

Do you happen to have the part number for the headlight bulbs.

I misspoke about swapping out ALL of the lighting...
I have not swapped out the headlights or corner lights to led because I was never able to confirm the base type. I'm somewhat certain that they are H4. My listed amperage numbers were with the OEM headlights on and the corner lights off.
I'm currently waiting on a set of led replacement headlamps advertised as compatible on eBay for about $30 for 2.

Thanks. Swapping out the front and rear work lights to LED is on my to do list. Keep us posted on the headlight change.

I should have them soon. The led front and rear work lights was the single most useable modification I've made to my L4060. They are 54 watts each, and turn night into day.

My setup is better, but bang for the buck & amount of effort I'd go with those mini-bars if I had to do things over. I went to overkill. Great light, but it was a lot of work. Whatever you do get some decent LED bars or mini-bars if you work at night at all. The stock headlights & cab lights suck.

I can confirm that the head lights are H4 and the corner lights are 7440.

I would avoid the real high output LED types with a heat sink behind them, as the heat sink would interfere with dust boots on the reflector assembly. The ones linked to on eBay look like they would work fine.

They are inexpensive eBay lights with no part number or manufacturer info. I will say they appear well made with no issues over the past several years.

My 52" bars were no name stuff off Amazon. Under $75 each. Cheap no-name big & small bars are on Amazon, Ebay & every auto parts or rural supply store. Cheap ones are usually noisy on RF (they jam your radio reception). They are a cheap commodity item at this point, unless you get some really expensive ones like Ridgid.

My front bar has a leak & foged up. I just undid a bunch of the screws at the bottom so it leaks out as well as in now. Will replace it with a better one that doesn't kill my radio if/when moisture kills it.

Yeah, mine certainly kill the FM radio, but I generally stream Abba and the Beach Boys through Bluetooth.

That's good to know. If the bulbs I found don't work out, knowing the base type will open up a lot of options. I doubt I'll swap out the corners, as I never use them because of the reflection off of the FEL.

Unfortunately I have to report that the led headlamp replacement was underwhelming. I don't think they are any worse than the halogens, just not better.

Is it possible to operate the rear remote valve levers from outside the cab? Through a window or door perhaps? I frequently use the T&T to more easily line up 3 pt implements while standing beside the tractor.

What about glass glare?

I didn't notice any unusual glare, the light is just more diffuse from the headlight lens and doesn't seem to project as far. They will suit my purposes though. I usually only have the headlights on to have the other running lights lit.

The remotes are easy enough to operate from the rear, raising or lowering the hitch not so much.

I have almost no Kubota experience to say.
That out of the way any and all defrost options are good and you will likely end up running the AC in the winter to help defog.
As far as the seat if you are happy with your existing air suspension and having your original seat I would swap it back in.
Depending on the seat provided the swivel portion quite often is a bolt on spacer type unit and could likely be bolted into your air seat.

Back or side windows, not at all. Side door, ya. Minor contortions to reach the levers from the back side of the door while on the ground, but not bad.

Definite safety violation to do it. But I do it from time to time, mostly when hitching or unhitching. With TnT & a Quick hitch I don't have to get off & fiddle much.

Well, I picked up my new L6060 HSTC yesterday. I live only 5 miles from the dealership so I drove over there with the old open station L6060 I traded. The temp was +10F with a wind chill of -1F. Even with Carharts & long johns, I had to stop a couple of times to warm up a bit. What a difference taking the new cab model home! As others have said, I could have done it wearing just a T-shirt!

I did notice that the power steering was much stiffer on the cab model over the old open station L6060. It seems to work ok but it requires considerably more effort. I suppose it could loosen up with use but I don't recall the old tractor being that hard to steer when it was new. Anyone else notice this?

Anyway, thanks to all who answered my many "novice" cab model questions!
