We werent allowed cameras on that part of the job after 9/11. Its funny TVA security coulf find a camera on you but couldnt detect a fullsized pickup. We were private contractors there on the job. What wasnt stolen usually got trashed. THey ripped the door off the office trailer with the same truck with a rope tied to the door knob to the trailer ball. THe culprits didnt know the trailer had been broken into so many times that a good jerk would open it. That trailer had been hit by lightning and smoked a computer, radios and chargers and a ton of things. They were all in the back room waiting for garbage day. They stole all of that stuff. We worked the truck over pretty good.
We looked up after that and saw a couple loser looking kids walking down the dirt road shaking their heads. One day someone dropped a big boulder in the bed of it and it sat for a few days. It was posted in the paper as abandoned and later one of the workers loaded it for scrap. We expected anyday that we would find a dozer or loader crispy but it never happened. What was so bad we had called the sheriffs dept multiple times and couldnt get a tag run.
We figured they had taken about 1200 in batteries, countless machine windows, stolen welder leads, pumps vandalized and things like that.
The deputies that responded when we called after the truck was found with our junk in it was it was kids that got lost. I found it hard to believes as they cut a 5/8ths cable with neon pipe on it, cut hte lock off the metal gates and drove past a giant reflective sing no tresspassing lol.
