First pic is one of the small extra kitchen cabinets we were not able to use. It is a corner unit and we found a great place in the master bath for it. Should have it up in a couple days.

Second pic is of my dirt pile, it is getting smaller. I had the backhoe pull some of it down so to be easier to move with my tractor. The more I can move the less I will have to bury:) .

The truth is I have an inside man at Lowes. I get a call anytime something for a house is returned or marked down. And they tell me who to see inorder to get them to mark it down more.

I guess I need to buy them breakfast:rolleyes: , or at least a pack of crackers and a coke:) .

The Home Depot here refuses to negotiate on prices. I was going to buy a Jobsite tool box that someone ran a forklift into and put a nice dent in the front. It still worked but didn't look very good with a dent. I made an offer and they countered with one $5 higher then my offer. I asked if they were serious and they were so I walked away and it sat there for a couple more months:rolleyes:

When Home Depot first opened up they were willing to deal with everyone but then they stopped. Regardless as to how much your willing to buy you get the same price the sticker says but they give away 10% off coupons all the time which is irritating.

Sorry for the rant. I am glad you are having good luck with Lowes. I wish we had a Lowes here to keep HD honest. We buy all our lumber, windows, siding and roofing from the lumber yards but HD is great for tools and items we need on the weekend since the local yards close at noon on Saturdays.

Your home is looking great.

Thanks Robert.

We don't have an HD here just Lowes. There is an HD about 30 min east of me but I don't get by there too often.

When Lowes has a "yard sale" they put things out in front of the store marked way down. But most people don't try to get them to go lower. I do, they had 20 spring loaded vise clips out this past summer. I forget what the price was they had on them but I told the guy out front I would take them all if he would cut the already reduced price in half and he did. I ended up giving a few to friends.

That is what we use to do when HD first opened. When we could get a great deal on things we would buy enough and give them or sell them to friends at what we paid. My sisters both got decent tool kits for their vehicles. They were the Husky sets HD sells that have 1/4"-1/2" sockets sets as well as just about any other basic tool you would use for common equipment work. My father managed to get them to deal on the sets and bought 3 of them. Two went to my sisters and one was a gift. Now we have to hope we find a deal. Our Home Depot keeps moving their clearance department and you don't know when or where they will be when they reduce the price.

I did get a nice tool box though before Christmas. It was a 20" Husky tool box with a 1/4" Husky socket set in it for $20. The socket set alone cost that much (you can get the same set in the tool section). Since I hurt my back I do not want to handle my other tool box like it is right now (weighs over 100 pounds but has almost every tool I will ever need in the field:) ). So with the new 20" box I am going to remove some of the tools to that one and just carry two tool boxes as well as my other tools I take to the field. But the two boxes will be a lot lighter then the one. Anyway, 3 days after I bought mine HD reduced them to $10 so my dad was there and bought two more. Gave one to a good friend of ours and kept the other in case I want to lighten the big tool box again (maybe a 1/4" tool box, 3/8" tool box and 1/2" tool box:D ) You can never have too many tools:)

Looking great!!

As far as the deals, I just wish I had TIME to go by there and dicker them down! Sigh...

My gas logs arrived yesterday. Should have them in today. We had a receptacle to plug in but the unit came in as a straight wire. So I will let the electrician wire a plug in it so if we ever have to take it out I can just unplug the unit.

I went with a 40,000BTU unit. Just a simple black front to match the old mantel. There were some a lot fanacier, even gold trim but I like the simple one better.

I supply some parts to the company that made the stove, Buck Stove Inc., and was able to go into the plant and look at the product being made and their in-house showroom.

Pic Attached.
