It has been a while since I have been down. I really need to get down there in the next couple of weeks. I deal with a company that use to be called Schlumberger and is now called Itron.

When I would take the buyer out to lunch we would go to a little place in town called "The Steak House"; know of it? They have great fried chicken...I don't think they have steak .

I use to know a couple of nice young ladies that worked at Schlumberger. Not sure if still there or not...

Walhalla Steak House!! Love it!!! Best fried chicken around! We usually head there once a month or so after church for Sunday lunch. Good stuff!!

Your pics are AWESOME!! I'm jealous, but we'll get there soon!!!

I actually got the dormers for free. The truss company was supposed to have put a "kick out" in the roof line for the porch. My contractor was at the beach when his lead carpenter put the roof trusses on and had plywood down.

The contractor came back the next day and saw the "kick out" for the porch was not there. We talked about it and he was wanting to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. The only option was to rip the plywood off and take the trusses down and have them made again. I really did not want to delay the work and he would have lost a lot of money doing this. So we came to an agreement. He would add the 3 dormers at no charge, we received an automatic $1000.00 discount from the truss company and there is a real good chance we may get the trusses for free or at 1/3rd the actual cost.

So everybody is happy.

A few pics of the windows and doors. I went with fiberglass exterior doors since they are less likely to warp like steel and wood. And went with vinyl/vinyl windows...because I hate painting windows!

We went with the black/dark gray mortar. We just liked the look of it compared to the standard white.
