Great looking hose David.
I love that your posts allow us to see the progress so fast. It shows us what's happening right away.
I should have done that with my project.

Rob you did good with your pics, I went through all of them a while back...have to check in again.

The problem is the framing goes fast, lots of bank gof the buck in pictures. The it slows down with plumbing, electrical, paint, etc. The outside doesn;t change much if at all, but I think the work gets twice as hard. :D We framed out weekend place in about 3 days, me and 2 guys 69 and older.

I have sheetrock BTW.

Rob,

Yours looks great, I can't wait to see more pics. My is going fast because it took me a year to get pictures loaded!

The windows and doors were put in yesterday. Hope to post pics soon.

RobJ,

Talk about things going slow. I had the plumbers tractor ( see attachment) in my basement for 5 weeks!! He showed up one day dug about one foot and never showed back up. He kept saying he would be back...never did so I fired him.

Here are a couple of pictures of granite steps we moved from the old home place we have. These steps are over 100 years old and we hope to use them on our front porch. I estimated the weight at 600-800lbs. They are 8" thick x 10-12" wide and 5'long.

I loaded three on the trailer and have a few more to get.

A friend was building a house on some property I helped clear with my Ford 1100. We met for dinner one evening at a local resturant and he was sitting across from me explaining the current problem that had everything on hold. The sheetrock guy had the electricians, painters, floor guys, etc all on hold because he wouldn't show up. My friend really was raking the sheetrock guy over the coals (to us) when the guy sitting in the booth behind us turned around, called him by name and told him that his sheetrock guys would be on the job in the morning!! Apparently he had been listening to the whole conversation and wasn't going to let the word get out that he was a bad sub-contractor.(He didn't know who we were, possible new clients or people with influence)
The sheetrock got done in nothing flat without another problem. We still joke about just how red my friend got when the sheetrock guy turned around and spoke to him.
Maybe you need to follow the plumber to your local resturant and invite all your friends?

Is there a reason you didn't take the tractor over to the old house and load all of the steps and bring them home? Maybe load them on another trailer, or in the back of a p/u since the tractor would be needed to unload? According to the dates on the pictures, you should have owned the tractor at that point. Were you just scared that the nails at the old homesite would get in your tires?
Just wondering,

Nails were one of the issues. The other was I did not want to leave the tractor down there after I loaded the steps on the trailer and then go back and get it. These were not that hard to load or get off the trailer. It took about 45 minutes to load them on the trailer. I could not put them in the back of the truck since it was loaded with other stuff, two old mantels we hope to use.

When we go back to get the rest I'll take the tractor and a dump truck to load the rock in. Besides the other steps I have two big piles of granite rock I need to get.

If you don't mind me asking, how much property do you have there? Any good fishing in that river? Beautiful project.

I thought nails might have something to do with it. I have enough tire problems without inviting more, so I definitely understand.
