My wife, kids and I have been building flowerbeds. There was alot of trator use here just no pics of the tractor. We started late last summer and just know finished up the first phase. We placed all the rock and irrigation system our self. There is around 18,000 lb of rock so far and 75 cubic yards of landscape mix. I went to Arkansas to get the rock and have semi loads of the landscape mix brought in. We paid a guy to pick, plant and get all of the plants for us. Buy the time we bought all of the plants at we would not have saved that much. There is still a lot more to do. I would say we are 25% done.
The first pic is of our gate. The gate is 25’ across and 8’ high for scale. It came out looking small in the pic.

I have rented a 120 Deere hoe for the weekend. I have around 75 trees to remove all are a good size. I can push them over with the hoe, clean the root ball then stack with the dozer. I will dig a nice hole for what does not burn before I turne the hoe back in.
I have my old back hoe in a bunch of parts now. and I am ready to get this part of my land. It is 4 ac to the right of my drive. I will get my son to take pic of the iron working.
Here is a pic of the back hoe it is a project in it self. I took it down for a clutch now I am rebuilding the engine

John,

You've done a fantastic job with your place. First class all the way. I especially like your front gate and fence!!

Hows your pond looking? I bet the house really looks amazing with it in the picture and all your landscaping.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I am siting here waiting for the Deere hoe to be delivered. We had a nice rain last night 1.5" so I can burn a old pile and all the new tree I knock down this weekend. I am going to split the old pile up so I will have some dry stuff to burn the green.
Eddie the pond is looking down about 3' we still need alot of rain. I have a deep pond so no chance of hurting the fish. most of all of my banks are a 3 to 1 slope so it does not look that bad. You just need a net when you fish off the pier.
The gate was a big project 2 years ago. I was glade to get it up. You can not see our house from the road. We always had people driving up. Now that has stoped even when the gate is open. Before the gate it just looked like an old oil/gas well road.

Hahahaha

John, you have the same people around you that I do!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just today I had a couple drive into my place and I caught them trying to make a quick turn around. When asked them what I could do for them, they came up with the lost dog excuse.

So I played along and asked about the dog and how to contact them if I found it. hahahaha It took them awhile to figure out what type of dog it was, what it looked like and then the real comedy started when they couldn't remember their new phone number for me to call them if I found the dog. hahahahaha /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I enjoy messing with nosey people who wont be honest and just say they are curious about what's going on and what I'm doing. When that happens, I'm happy to spread the word and tell of my dream to build the RV Park, but when they lie about why they drove onto my land, I like to mess with them.

The most common one I get is that they are looking for so-and-so and that he said he lived here. hahahaha I'm the first person to live hear and it was jungle when I bought the land!! Aint nobody ever lived here before or anyplace close to here.

I also write down license plate numbers, vehicle discriptions and when they were here. You never know who's out looking for something to steel.

Hope the pond gets the water pretty soon. All our news reports are about the concern of the lake levels and what's going to happen if they don't get back up to normal.

We came home one night and there was a girl peeing beside her Boy Friends truck. You want to talk about a deer in the headlights. I even made her take her wipe paper with her. I would not let them out of the road till she did.
They just brought the deer 120 hoe. It only has 557hrs on it and it is bet to heck. The whole front glass is gone. The man said all of the damage happened on the last job. He had 2 hoes and a dozer rented and both hoes got trashed.
Some people I rent somthing I take better care of it than if it was mine.

John, great landscaping can turn a very nice house into a very nice mansion. Your house and landscaping sure bring that to mind. What a beautiful place! It looks very warm and welcoming. I know you must be proud of that place and you have every right to be. Very, very nice job! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
