Bruce, kind of did that once years ago with an old John Deere B and an old 1/2 ton Chevy I used to own. I was driving the tractor off a borrowed car hauler and looked... lo and behold the rear of the truck was a good 2 feet off the ground! Truck bounced once but it was fine.
Regarding positioning on a 14 foot trailer. Yes, that is something I'll have to play with. I think the rear tires will sit on or just behind the second axle assuming the bucket is touching the front rail.
