So well stated on your part...while making an inane remark such as "freeze" would seem stupid to us older farts, maybe the kid did it because he was drunk or stoned, or given a dare...BUT what I wonder most of all about is: DID ANYBODY WHO WITNESSED THE INCIDENT say something to him about it was a stupid thing to do?

No they did not for reasons talked about earlier. You'd get cussed out or accused of picking on the kid. Because in today's society, how dare you discipline MY kid!!!! That's what wrong with the current generation and partially what's wrong with the previous one. Even if someone that knew the kid called and talked to his parents they would be yelled at and told to mind their own business. That's why the kid is such a smart***. He knows no one is going to call him out on it.
