Laurin Eclipse Cab for BX25

There has been some talk of the Laurin Eclipse cab here.

Does anyone out here in TBN actually have one? I would hope that someone that actually has one to share some pictures and experiences with us.

The Kubota M8540 orchard tractor is the one that has an eclipse as standard equipment with a pressurised cabin

Thank you. I have conversed with Laurin via email. But I would really like to talk to a fellow TBN'er that owns one. And if someone is in my area I would love to drive out and look at one in person.

Well Laurin had been the only hard cab that accomodated the backhoe on the BX25.

It looks like Curtis has just introduced one also. The press release is from the end of December 2009. From the extremely small picture it looks a little less "deluxe" than the Laurin cab, hopefully that translates into lower price that more of us can afford.

I have an EX on an M59. Above link is factory pictures. Extremely well built. Excellent heat. Rather pricey. I think the sound deadening within the cab could be signiifcantly improved. I have a full size MF with a factory cab on the farm. When you close the cab on the MF the engine sound level drops. I would say the level stays the same or increases when you close the door on the Laurin Cab mounted on the M59.

OK did some more looking, it seems like Sims also has one for the BX25.
Sims Cab Depot - Tractor Cabs and Cab Enclosures - Yukon Cab - Kubota BX2350, BX2360, BX24, BX25, BX2660

All three of these manufacturers have in common very poor photographs of the product on their website!

The Laurin appears to do away with the ROPS, I imagine the frame of the cab becomes the ROPS for that one.

Do you plan on leaving the cab on year round? I take my Sims cab off in the spring and back on in the fall. Unless you get AC, which I think is not an option on a BX, a cab on a BX is HOT in the summer. Here is a thread on how I do it each fall.

They all look like they add considerable amount of weight to the top of the tractor. Does this make them more top heavy and thus more prone to rolling over?

you might be onto something with the top heavy idea, prolly why kubota does not offer a cab on the 23-24-25 series with out resizing bigger or wider tires

The problem I see with the Simms cabs is they're really, really expensive for what you get. The Laurin is only a little more expensive when optioned out, but of significantly higher quality from what I can tell, so seems to be a much better value than the Simms.

The Curtis cabs are much more reasonably priced, and constructed similarly to the Simms. The issue for me is that when I was looking last year, Curtis did not have a model for my machine, but for the amount of time I'd want a cab, I'd much rather buy a lesser priced Curtis. If Curtis never bothers to develop one for my machine (and they may not due to the factory cab option), then I may end up with a Laurin at some point.

I really hate plowing snow during a 2 or 3 day snow event with the temps at 10* or lower.

Anyway, a Curtis cab could be optioned out at a significantly lighter weight for a BX if you only really wanted it for winter use, and should be much easier to remove doors/panels for summer use.
