Leaf Vacuum

I should probably break down and buy a tow behind leaf vac for my ZTR. I presently use a Little Wonder walk-behind blower on a JRCO blower buggy, to push all the leaves into the woods at either edge of my property.

My neighbors who own those woods that boarder my property on each side are gracious enough to allow me to do this, I return the favor in other ways, but it's not efficient moving huge piles of leaves 200+ feet either direction from the center of the yard, and I do end up blocking one of their driveways during the process. Now that they have teen drivers, the traffic on that driveway seems to have increased 4x over prior years, and I hate being an obstacle for anyone.

With a tow-behind leaf vac, I imagine I could either dump the leaves in the woods, or into my trailer for transport to the local mulching facility. Not super convenient either, but anyone who's tried to move a waste-deep 300 ft. wide pile of cherry or oak leaves 200 feet thru grass with a blower knows it means hundreds or thousands of trips up and down the line to get them there.
Cyclone rake, one of the better units out there with good support. I built my vac about 15yrs ago but my dad bought a Cyclone about 3yrs ago and has been very happy with it.

I create a pile of the mulched up leaves in the woods and turn them from time to time. Makes awesome soil after a few years.

I leave/mow my leaves. I have issues with black walnuts. I've tried several "lawn vacs" and none pick up walnuts worth a darn, but the few picked up rattle the heck out of (will destroy) the impeller. The manual one works, but I have too many (12 trees). I use a shop vac, with extension cords.

I have a Cyclone rake and other equipment but I use this Agri Fab sweeper a lot. I removed these two parts (black lines) attaching a rope (at blue line- rope is red dashed line) that goes through an eye bolt I put on mower arm rest.
Adjust sweeper brush high does a better job. Then I back up to my dump site & pull rope.
It works well, fast & easy.

I had one I bought for a song. Never really got it working for my application so I did a little work on it and sold it for 4x what I paid for it. I do have a walk behind leaf blower that works very well. But I still need to move the leaves to my front yard for pickup, that is still a serious PITA.

I also have an Echo PB-9010T backpack blower that will blow leaves into the next county. I can quickly blow leaves out of sheds, bushes, etc. then sweep them up.
We've come a long way from the 1950's when we raked them up with a wooden rake onto an old bedsheet.

Echo makes a stout blower, I have a 770 and 8010. The 8010 is a beast, but the 770 was always the best starting/ running blower I've ever had, 2 pulls when cold and 1 pull once it's been started that day.

Never had much luck with the sweeper, fills up in a matter of feet. Plus it doesn't mulch them so takes forever for them to break down.

I have a low spot with an old woven wire fence at bottom which is where I dump leaves. That's my pumpkin patch. They grow like crazy in that area when it rains all those leaves hold water and apparently supply nutrients pumpkins like.

I just picked up another 1.5 cubic yards of walnuts this evening. Get a golf ball collector from a driving range, or a bag-a-nut harvester.

Unless you have pine needles or oak leaves just mulch them in. In peak fall I run around with the mower every 2 days. A quick mulch then do a really good one as a last mow. In spring you wouldnt even know.
