Not to mention having over 17 of the 27W lights! Awesome illumination, especially at 5 MPH travel speed. You could singe the vegetation.

It would also allow you to weld!

In a given set of circumstances maybe but I wouldn't.
I like over-building and that is why I like the harness but for the application it needs to be tamed down a little.

Once you see one of those harnesses you see how simple they are and easy to reproduce.

If anyone is happy with the harness as is, good luck, it works, it what you want... I would just look at the circuit and build or mod the circuit to the application.

Sorry if this confused anyone or caused someone to over think the harness, it appears to be a nice one.

I think it screams quality and the reviews are great. What's not to like? Just drop another fuse in.

I just finished the install!! to say I'm happy is a complete understatement. 2 27w lights are incredible and plenty for me. Pictures and details to follow later.... thanks to all

I have to say that the opt7 harness ended up being the perfect length for this tractor. The battery is all the way in the front of the tractor which made me nervous at first. I'm not the most capable at this stuff but it was pretty easy with some patience. I'm sure there are easier ways to wire these in but I wanted the lights to be separate so I didn't compromise anything. Loving the result and can't wait to add front lights somehow

I have LED lights on my tractor and I think I actually wired with 16 ga. However, I would not recommend going too light on the wire and risking voltage drop. My lights seem to be voltage sensitive. When I use my 12 volt winch that rotates the snowblower chute, the LED flood lights dim noticeably. If I have the normal headlights on they are not affected. On my system I have #10 wire from the battery to a switch box, #10 on to the winch and #16 to each of the lights.

Not surprising as the winch motor draws reasonably high amps when operating and the voltage drop shows up with your LEDs.
Leds are more voltage sensitive than filament bulbs.

I had considered those, for just your reason, but decided that with gloved hands (plowing snow?) they might be a hassle to switch.

I just bought something similar off Ebay: one because of the round mounting holw and two because they claim to be waterproof. Mine just have an LED dot light but should work better than a lever toggle switch.

Can you give a link to them?

I have used one for about a year to control the headlights on a four-wheeler with no problem. They appear to be well made.

I'm going to use a couple of these one for the front and one for the rear. The connectors are a little light duty but I think with a little head shrink and a tie wrap I will be able to work with them.
Amazon.com: 1 Latching Push Button Power Switch 16mm 12v LED Stainless Steel Waterproof Red: Automotive

The connectors are light duty because the switch is only rated at 3A... be careful.
Yes, LED's don't draw a lot but 3A is pretty marginal for a light switch.

I'm using something similar to the ones blue72camaro linked to.
I bought mine from Waytek.
SWITCH ROUND ROCKER RED LED 3P SPST ON-OFF 20A 12VDC - 44116

Mine are rated at 20A. I see the ones blue72 linked to are 25A.
Maybe 20-25A is overkill for LED's but better safe than sorry.

Well I ordered the switches I linked above, now I just need to decide on if I want to put a single light bar forward facing or a pair of smaller units off set to the sides. A friend got me a 5" round work light that they use on tanker trailers where he works for the rear.

So another question on if I am overdoing things as I tend to do from time to time or not. I plan to add a 4 bank fuse block to the tractor and its supply power will come straight from the battery thru a relay that only comes on when the key is on. Then I will use two of the banks on the new fuse block for forward and rear work lights and be left with 2 spots to expand should I ever want to add something else.

Use a relay for each light circuit, that way you can run any switch and there will be no concern about amperage rating for the switch, only the waterproof rating.
