Has anyone had experience with a Leinbach 7300 post hole auger? I am looking at one, and was wondering if it will fit on a CUT. Specifically a 2305 JD. I have heard people have had height issues??? with PHDs on compacts... Any thoughts?

I have that same PHD, and I am happy with mine. I use it on my CC 7360. Unfortunately, our very rocky soil costs me many shear bolts. But that's not the fault of the PHD. For the smaller JD2305, you might want to look at the Leinbach 7200. It's sized for the subcompacts.

I have a Woods PHD25 auger with a 12" bit. Made for small CUTs and sub-cuts. Lots of clearance. Works very well in my extremely rocky soil.

I have a Leinbach 2300 on my Kubota B6100. The tip of the auger dragged on the ground by an inch or so when in the full up position. I took the auger off, cut down the top of the shaft 3" and re-drilled the mounting holes.
Now it will only dig 45" instead of 48" but I use it mainly for digging planting holes for the bushes/trees my wife keeps buying so the shorter auger doesn't bother me.

Thanks, I went to Leinbachs web site but I do not see this series listed. BTW, I am looking on ebay at this PHD, any idea what a fair price is?

Thanks for all the advise.

If I was you I'd take a look at the Tractor Supply PHD, it costs about the same as the Leinbach and their auger bits have a much better cutting edge and pilot. They are also reinforced where they bolt up to the PHD which will prevent the bit from breaking. John
