Lets see how a low end grease compares to Lucas Red and Tacky

I’m actually surprised how much difference there was.

supertech sells a red grease, not sure why it wasn't the comparison as its literally a dollar more, which i have used for years on everything including trailer bearings. 0 issues for me

You could spend a year testing grease and not test them all. Testing a grease that cost half as much vs grease that’s nearly the same price is a better test IMO.

I have never seen a grease related failure.

What does a grease failure look like, other than the obvious of having no grease. I mean, if there is grease in the joint or bearing, and it fails because of the grease, how can a person tell?

Most of the time a joint that was actually well greased never fails at least on residential equipment.

For this board, where most of us use our tractors less than 200 hours/year it's probably more important to make sure it's all greased than worry about the specific brand of grease.

Generally a grease related failure is from incompatible types of grease. Many people flock to polyurea because it synthetic but if you look at a grease compatibility chart it reacts bad with just about everything. We see this at work all the time when mixed with lithium it turns to a rock as a prime example

I've seen grease failures two times forsure...

The grease failed to stay in a properly greased bearing, so the bearing failed...

That's a grease related failure.

Just be careful mixing grease so you don't cause your own failure
