Installed 3 of these in the garage/barn/shop this summer and am very impressed. I really like not having to deal with motor mounts hanging out space in a building with 16' ceilings.

Thanks for the heads up .....I have 13 or 14 foot ceilings in my garage so the jackshaft made more sense than a standard opener. I have had a few problems and have figured out that the commercial side of the garage door company is much more familiar with these openers than the residential side. So, call the commercial folks first for repairs.
Great thanks, looks like a good price.
I have a pair of them for my garage doors. The first thing you need to understand is the opener doesn't lift the door. It just counteracts the spring(s). The springs should ideally be set up so that they require very little effort to open by hand. Mine will not go up or down if you open them half way.
The only problem I had was setting the openers up to the maximum height the doors could open. I'm guessing due to the angle the track is at, the springs that came with the doors, and the weight of the doors the safety switch to prevent the cables from getting slack and causing a tangled mess the doors had to be set to open not to their full extent. What I did to solve it was put a piece of steel bar across the very bottom of the door, about an inch up on the inside. I think it weights about 40 lbs. When the door is open the steel is still on the vertical section of track. After doing so I've never had an issue. If I had more headroom I could have put the horizontal section of track at more of an angle to make the door want to close but when building a garage why woud you not want to make the doors as tall as possible.
Thanks Dish....I installed these on the garage of my new house and really like them. For starters, they are really quiet when used with the nylon rollers and you don't have the the opener hanging in the middle of your garage ceiling. They also have a lifetime warranty on the motors. I also installed the battery backup on the main garage door so it will work when the power is out.
