I would like the number I have the same trouble thanks Bob
I needed to lime our food plots. I searched all over the net, talked to tractor salesmen, combed ther classified listings, rental agencies, etc., to find a lime speader that would handle pulverized lime pulled behind ATV or small tractor. Found a listing for a small company in central Pa in a food plot acticle in the net. I don't know of another source for that type of unit. It handles about half a ton at a time and works great in the woods where I have to maneuver around on our woods trails. I provide the phone # to anyone in similar predicament.

I found this one for 25 bucks. I'd like to cut it down to 6 feet wide. I'm no craftsman so I'm searching for one to hire out or maybe trade for use.

The old easy-flow soreaders work very well, much more accurate than the spinner spreaders. By the way does anyone know where I can get an application chart for a easy-flow?

I need a lime spreader to pull behind my tractor. I want to apply lime to a seven acre field. Where do I find such a machine? ekelley@mgemaine.com

sometimes your local department of ag will have them to rent. I would check with them first. Other places to look are local hunting groups or rental shops....sometimes a neighbor will have one.

Around big agricultural areas, the co-op's or the fertilizer companies oftentimes have equipment to lime your fields. Where my deer land is located, this service does not exist and the land is too rugged to get their equipment in anyway...so I found an old EZ Flow spreader to do the job....and had a load of ag-lime delivered with a dump truck.

I actually pull the EZ Flow with a 4 wheeler....and load it with my tractor's loader. These work very well with ag lime....but you need to look far and wide to find 'em.

You're right about that--I've been looking for a 10-ft wide drop spreader for several years. They're hard to find and go fast when on the market.

I only have a 6-acre hayfield, so I use by old 10-ft wide Minneapolis Moline P3-6 grain drill to spread pelletized lime/fertilizer and then disc it in. Cost me $275 for two old drills and about 6-weeks of spare time to fix up one of them for field work.
