Pushed the loader control lever forward and it releases, free float to back drag.
Problem is, no release.... had to back all the way to the tool area.
Any solution ideas?

If your loader control valve has a detent for float, then it sounds like a rusty float detent ball on the far end of the loader control spool valve. That's the spool valve that controls the loader arms. The detent mechanism makes that spool longer than the bucket spool. See if you can get it apart and clean it up. The detent mechanism has a little hole for venting and water gets in there.

The other longer cannister on the control valve is the relief valve. Make sure to figure out which one is which.

Not following you. What do you mean "no release"? Were you not able to pull the control back and raise it, after floating?

Exactly.
Cannot raise the loader. Loader is stuck in float.

Does the loader control joystick move?
Barely, locks out valve functions.
Looks like a set of linkages below the valve controls.
Of course they are underneath, contortionist required..

The linkage on my old Deere 855 was so worn out when I bought it, I had the same trouble. Couldn't get in/out of float without lifting my butt off the seat, as the lever needed to be lifted above where the seat bottom sat. Replacing most of the loader control lever linkage, and repairing the seat suspension, fixed that problem.

Success!
WD40 got it twitching, 3 in 1 oil with extended lube tube made it easy.
Underneath the mess of valves, body/housing and hoses it was.
Got the manure spread, tilled a pile of compost, then it rained. I am thankful.
