My LNL leaked soon after I got it. I fixed it by pressing the lever to extend the jaws and rotating them to tighten them.

I talked to Russel at LocknLube . . .

Rotating the jaws won't likely solve the "problem" for long, as it does not tighten anything on the original model (shipped without an extra seal). The original model sometimes leaks after only limited use and there is no lasting fix if it is defective. LocknLube is not 100% sure why this occurs, however, they are doing the right thing, replacing defective units with a new model that has an user replaceable seal - extra included with the coupler.

So, hopefully soon I will be back to happy greasing :c)

Note for those interested: The nitrile or buna-n seal is contained within a sliding barrel inside the coupler. It's proper sealing function is dependent on that barrel being able to slide within the coupler housing. As grease exits the gun, it pushes the housing with seal forward against the end of the Zerk fitting and this forward pressure is what effects the seal. If the barrel/seal doesn't or can't slide forward, you get a leak.

I sure like mine. Makes the job a lot less messy and a whole lot easier for those hard to get at locations. Got a replacement seal kit with mine. So far, it hasn't leaked.

I am real happy with my LockNLube Grease Coupler.

I put it on the lever action, removed the steel tube and used a hose.

You normally don't have a hose on a lever style, because it would require 3 hands to use it. This way I have more flexibility and only need two hands.
The hose that I used on the lever gun, was removed from this pistol grip gun.

So I put the angle adapter on it.

This would have been just the thing for greasing the loader bucket cylinder on a friends tractor. The zerk is in a cage like affair with a hole just big enough for a grease gun nozzle. But you could not twist the nozzle sideways to get it off and so we couldn't, not even by unscrewing the nozzle. Had to pry it off, by the hose with a bar!

But thirty dollars???? Curious if it holds on those difficult zerks that one has trouble locking onto to. I'd go as high as 20.00 CDN, taxes in.

Bought two of the LNL's for $30 ea. and would do it again in a flash. Installed one on my pneumatic gun and the other on manual gun. Have yet to run into a zerk they won't work on.

$30? Are you kidding? Do you know how many hours I have spent repairing zerks that have been ripped out by the roots by the grease nozzle? The constant frustration when greasing equipment is endless. I probably have TWICE that amount in the various replacement fittings that I've purchased over the years trying to solve the problem - none of which worked properly I might add.

When the LNL became available I couldn't whip my wallet out fast enough!

Only remaining task is to buy LNL's for the rest of my grease guns.

I agree with both of you. On first inspection, $30 is a lot of money, manufacturing wise, to pay for this product. However, even using a good quality Lincoln grease gun, I was not able to grease several fittings on my new tractor due to the gun tip just spewing grease out the end without going into the fitting. And I replaced the fittings with new ones to no avail. I also tried a Lincoln grease fitting cleaner, also to no avail.

Only when I stumbled across this coupling and installed on the Lincoln pistol grip gun could I force some grease into the errant fittings. I then purchased a Dewalt 20VDC powered grease gun and another of these $30 fittings. Man, what a difference. I can now easily grease the whole tractor (minus two fittings) in a fraction of the time I did so manually and as a much cleaner and simpler process. I have two fittings I still have to do manually using a 90 degree adapter from the pistol grip gun due to the large size of the LNL not fitting into the required area.

So from a labor and frustration standpoint, this $30 adapter makes me smile every time I use it.

Here is the 90 degree adaptor I made to easily clip on to the LNL so I could get those two fittings under the floorboards of the Kioti
