Before I send it back I'll clean all the grease off of it, which will give me a chance to take a closer look at what's going on with it. Hopefully I'll find something stuck in the coupler and be able to clear it out. I was pleased with its performance the first couple of times I used it.

I had the same problem two days ago when I finally put mine to real use servicing the mowers for the new season. I extended the jaws by pushing the lever and rotated them as if screwing them into the barrel. I imagine they came loose from a seal, but didn't bother to investigate further.

It works perfectly again. In fact I did the 600 hr interval service on my DK35 today and am more enthused than ever it is a good buy--even at the Canadian price! It made greasing those awkward under-tractor fittings(brake linkages, front pivot, etc.) much easier.

It almost made greasing fun, but I'm sure that will wear off!

I plan to show the coupler to my dealer next time I'm in.

I greased my FEL yesterday after spreading several tons of road gravel, not one fitting did it not work perfectly on, even the hard to get to ones, worth the price to me. I'm going to show this to my dealer today, something he needs to inventory.

I plan to show it to my dealer because I think he may want to use it in the shop. It would be especially advantageous for those who service many machines. Perhaps those types of users already know about it. However, it was surprising how many experienced users(including me, but I'm no mechanic) did not know about adjusting regular couplers.

kco,

Thanks for the info about your issue with the coupler and how you were able resolve it. I'll take a closer look at my coupler this weekend and see if I can fix mine as well.

I would be interested to see what people think too before I lay down $30 for a grease gun coupler.

I agree. Charging $30 is taking advantage of those not in the know. For less than $30 I bought an 100 ct. assortment case of metric AND a case of SAE zerks. That handy for changing the zerk angle in a lot of spots for easier access. And, if one is plugged, I simply replace it and toss the old one.

come on, seriously. $30 wont even buy a dinner out for a family of 4. and that money just goes down the toilet a day later.

The main advantage I see in the LNL is in not having to be concerned with holding the coupler on the zerk. It works especially well with a flexible hose on hard to reach fittings.

For me, the improved convenience justifies the price. Also, I don't think the price is that bad when you compare the LNL's more complex construction to regular couplers'.

You are sure right about that! As a Harley owner, I've very familiar with charging $30 for a $10 item. That usually doesn't slow me down from buying something - especially if it has been chromed. Think they'd chrome it for that same price? If so, gimme two :)

I paid $23 plus tax for a JD right-angle swivel coupler from GreenFarmParts. So $30 for a coupler that is a game changer for grease guns is a no-brainer.

Every now and then you buy a product that works so well that you don't even care what it costs because it solves a long time nagging problem and works as designed. For me the Lock-n-Lube coupler is one of those products.

I agree. I use mine on a flexible hose with a lever-type grease gun. I attach the coupler and have both hands free to hold the grease gun and pump the handle.
