I have been using my buddy's 27 ton troy built log splitter from Lowes. It has the honda motor. Its a great machine but it is very loud. I am thinking there should be a generator muffler that would bolt right on. Honda has the quietest generators so why not use that muffler on this log splitter? Any body already do this same thing? I dont want to "rig" up the splitter, it is new and looks great, so would prefer a factory look, not a 20' peice of pipe clamped over the exhaust, like we have done at the hunting camp.:) any thoughts on back pressre, or other issues that might damage the motor?

Hi ...

According to me engine doesn't sound much different with the open pipe then when it had the stock 'muffler' on it.
