Long dump trailer

Does anyone make a really long (16'+) bumper pull 14K dump trailer? I'm thinking I'd like to get down to a single trailer that can carry my tractor (NX6010) as well as serve as my run around trailer to pick things up (which are sometimes long) and, of course, be a dump trailer for bulk materials. Seems that the bumper pull trailers max out around 14' long which isn't long enough to load my tractor. If you get into the gooseneck trailers, then yes, there are options, but those trailers get real expensive and are typically built to haul more weight than I need (or want to pay for).

Anyone have any experience with this? Hauling a moderate sized tractor in a dump trailer, what length did you need?

I have a 14K BP 16' dump trailer made by Cross Country Trailer here in NY. I have used it once to haul my tractor but usually use my tilt bed PJ for hauling vehicles. It has ramps and D-ring tie downs in the bed which is 80" wide.

You are correct that dump trailers are usually 10,12, or 14' in length. Longer ones are usually special ordered. Mine was special ordered by someone else who later backed out of the sale order. I saw an ad online by Cross Country and was able to make a deal.

For me its much easier to use the dump trailer to haul materials and the 22' PJ for vehicles. Tieing down without sides and loadin / unloading is easier too.

B-wise makes a nice 16ft dump, longer is available also but I've only seen them as a gooseneck.

I would think that the manufacturers would shy away simply because someone, somewhere, would way overload on bulk material and risk an "accident". Mostly, I see the length go up to 16 feet or more in GN configuration.

I've seen 20ft bumper pull with 3 7k axles and 2 dually axles so they are out there, my guess is that there isn't much market out there for the longer bumper pulls so they aren't as common. I can easily overload a 12 or 14ft with wet clay so I doubt they would not build them as a way to prevent people from causing an accident.

My old 16' tilting deck trailer barely h
Fit my 3,000lbs L3200 & that was only because it had a really long tongue to rest the loader on. Any impliments would usually hang off the back s bit.

Even if you can fit the tractor on the deck or in the box, it's a crap shoot if it balances properly when there is no slack space to adjust it.

I thought about a dump trailer as well for similar reasons. But due to the conflicting objectives ended up with a deckover power tilting deck.

About ever trailer manufacturing company around seems build a 16'. I got a 14' in gooseneck load trail and been happy with it. If money wasn't an option I would have bought a bwise as they looked like great trailer.

I used to have a 20 footer made by a company called BMF Trailers which later became Big Lug Trailers. I sold it a couple years ago. I welded up removable sides and tailgate for it after I first got it 12 years ago. For heavy loads I used a weight distribution hitch.

My buddy has a 12' dump trailer and its curb weight is almost 2,700lbs. I would hate to see what a 16' was.

About 4200lbs for the low pro 16ft 15klb B-wise. At 2700lbs that must be a pretty light duty dump, the 12ft 15klb B-wise is still just shy of 4klbs.

My 16ft deckover dump is lighter, but that's due to having an aluminum body.

Lamar, Load Trail, PJ, Diamond C, and several others make 16' dump trailers. I have a Diamond C 24LPD.

Yes most everyone that makes dump trailers make 16' ones, either low profile or deck over. I will be getting one soon, probably a Diamond C gooseneck. My M7060 with the chipper on back will fit perfectly in a 16' one with the grapple set on top of the GN.

You might also want to check out Kaufman Trailers in N.C. I have a 14 footer that has been a good trailer. They offer many options and upgrades. One area of caution- dump trailers are very tongue heavy due to axles placed near the rear. You should really consider a gooseneck over 14' in my opinion. It will be very much easier to pull and easier on your truck as well. Not trying to skew your choice, just my opinion.

I have a 16' Big tex comes in at 4K, but for my needs it's wat I need.
I can drop in large trees in their 16' long not a problem.
Also I take a lot of trash/ brush to the recycler so I'm not hauling weught
as much as I'm hauling BULK.
When I fill it with bulk and pack it down with the bucket the most I can
get in it is 2,500 punds of twigs, leaaves, logs etc.
