My 2003 NH TC30 made it to 11 years on the original battery here in Maine. Tractor is used year round.

As a couple of posts above. I took out my original battery in 2006 and fitted a red top gel Optima and it is still going strong. I gave the original to my lad for his ute. He is on his 3rd one since then.
I wish I could say the same for my Honda battery... 2008 and needs a 4th battery very soon. Time for a new car I think.

I wore my original battery down a few weeks ago in very cold (-10F) temps. I checked it a few days ago and the life indicator was blue. She turned right over. Glad I didn't buy a new one.

wearing a battery down seriously damages it, they are not designed to take that.. one day you'll notice it won't crank the engine anymore, even after charging..

I am getting some freebee almost new Ambulance Batteries that were apparently discharged too low, and now won't meet certification.
Age alone doesn't mean much without knowing hours, temperature and other conditions.

the bottom line is, they were damaged by discharging too low, and won't perform as a good battery would. also, make sure these are not deep cycle batteries. they are not designed for starting, and get damaged by a charging current that is too high, most vehicles would use a charge current that is way too high for deep cycle batteries..

Replaced original battery in my 2005 Montana last year. Have 3rd battery in my 2014 Silverado truck. Dealer says I don't drive it enough to keep battery charged. Also, seems to me you can't let these newer batteries die as they will not keep a charge after they have been completely discharged.

9th yer for my GC2410, certainly not the longest by any means but I am impressed. My 2005 Husqvarna batter was just replaced a couple years back which made that battery 13 years old.
