P.S. I see where Massey's name was brought up repeatedly. This former European founded Company now owned by the American based company Agco has most if not all of it's CUTS made by Iseki in Japan. Case/New Holland (owned by the Italian Fiat Group) CUTS are made in Japan by Shiburo(spelling?). All these companies are global companies now with parts and pieces made all over the place.

Massey was founded by Daniel Massey and Alanson Harris and was incorporated as the Massey-Harris Company in 1891 in Canada, not Europe. The company became Massey-Harris-Ferguson in August 1953.

But a two-line policy was followed for the next five years: Massey-Harris and Massey-Ferguson. The Massey-Harris line was dropped in late 1958 and the company name became Massey-Ferguson.

AGCO of Duluth, Georgia acquired Massey Ferguson in 1994.

While I'm sure your father is a Deere expert with many year's association with the products, dealers, etc. - it is possible to get a bit confused about international business, joint ventures, etc.

In carefully reading several of the John Deere Annual Reports, there is a information on the Joint Venture between Hitachi and John Deere listed under "Unconsolidated Affiliated Companies."

The listing is for Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation, of which John Deere owns 50%. Notice - it is a complete and separate corporation - i.e. a "joint venture" between the two companies.

This hardly constitutes Hitachi "owning John Deere," or even owning a portion of John Deere. Unconsolidated Affiliated Companies are business ventures between companies that may include manufacturing, distribution, or both.

This has been a joint venture between the companies since 1988. It's a fairly complex arrangement with sales and marketing in north, central, and south america of forestry and construction equipment.

The Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation headquarters are located in Kernersville, NC. They have production facilities in North Carolina and Saltillo, Mexico.

Just a small amount of time spent looking in the right places....and you actually get....facts....

My comment was made in GEST, I know the public records, as I did quote i saw it on Edgar. I am not worried about who or who'm ownes the largest part of John Deere, and I dont belive I have brought that up in some time, it was a comment in GEST. The problem is that several people on this site are calling me a liar, or such, I provided a un-published number to John Deeres ONLY US FOUNDRY, so every person could ask those nice folks if they make any under 100 h.p tractors here and they will kindly tell you they do not, but no one has called and posted that, they just keep on slinging lies.
You are right how I worded that Hitachi statement was wrong and I admit it. But who on this list is man enough to admit I am right, no one so far and I provided the proof. I love it.

pholt, you seem to be a knowledgeable guy. You bought what you thought was best for your buck. But when making statements like that you really need to be careful how you word it.

Swines I like your reply, finally one with some facts in it. Do you know what Edgar online is?
Someone bailed John Deere out of some serious financial woes just about the time John Deere and Hitachi announced there "join ventures" It is rumored in the Finance and ag industry that Hitachi put up the boot. I seriously doubt John deere is going to put in there public records " Hey were taking a large cash infusion for consolidations to Hitachi on the backside". Who knows, someone paid the bills, but it does not matter I am sorry I said that in gest. Your are right I have no proof, I am wrong, without proof there is no point in saying it.

My father is by no means a expert he is a farmer that had farms large enought, that he deals with the FACTORY, not the dealers. IF you want mis-information call any dealer and that is the source to get it. Now my dad retired years ago, but this was his love and like I said he was at the John Deere factory last week, trying to pull some strings for a friend.

Yes I did! And I REALLY LIKED the KIOTI!!! Did I not put the Kioti on the list. Oh I did not I forgot, yes I drove it too. They say the Kioti is smaller than the TYM and it is not, it is shorter I think, but it is wider. The Kioti was at the top of my list. But the main reason I did not buy it was the closest dealer was 4 hours away, and that was just too far.

But the Kioti was very close in comparison as far as stats. I felt the TYM with the Kubota engine had a little more going for it, I also called the Kioti dealer and asked him to tell me why the Kioti was better than the TYM, and he said quote "The TYM is a VERY good tractor", then he told me the Kioti was heavier and it was not, he told me the Kioti had more options it in fact did not. The kioti was a 12 speed, the TYM was 16, it has 3 sets of remotes and so on.

I am not a TYM CHEERLEADER GUYS, I dont even know that much about it, **** I dont know where the air filter is at this point. BUT I DO KNOW when I speced them out it came with the most bang for the buck, PERIOD, now it might be a ROLLING STEAMY PILE OF DOG ****, I guess I am in it and I will find out
When I bought my Agricat, I was nothing but pleased with it, now it did not have a toaster like the New Holland, but it was a tractor and it did tractor like jobs all day long and absolutly sipped fuel. So I took the chance on the TYM, (and the TYM is night and day compared to a Jimna)and with a 5 year warranty, I honestly do not see where I can go wrong, they could go under, but they have been in business for 40 years so I will have to take that chance. The Kioti was nice and I would say it is very close to the build of the TYM, and they can be had for the same price, actually the KIOTI was a few grand cheaper.

Harvey this is the Kioti I looked at the actual tractor, it was slick, now one thing I did not like was the overhead lights everytime you go under a tree those puppies are going to be pointing at the moon, I try to look for little things like that, if you notice the TYM lights are protected, it is stupid and small, but i took my time and tried to find all those things that JUST PISS YOU OFF, over time.

The Kioti and the TYM are VERY similar, I like the front tires on the Kioti better. And that was a **** nice loader on the Kioti, I was told the Humpeloc was better, but the Kioti looked better. The loader I have will lift more and higher, per the specs? And is easier to take off. And he was not sure if the loader was skid steer compatible and I forgot to look Guys Skid steer compatability is HUGE, when buying implements, they are cheaper. MUCH.

Oh, sorry for another post but just trying to help Harvey. Harvey, one more reason I bought the TYM and did not even notice it, they do not have quick dis-connect buckets, that is huge to me also, and I did not even notice. Look at the pic. Guys quick attach is not cheap. And with TYM it is standard, GO TYM,,, sorry. :( I just get more excited to think I actually bought something and it has more than I had wished for. Usually I buy something and find the guy across the street paid half as much and his has all the stuff I want. AND if you look at the seat and steering wheel from this post of a DK65, they are awful similar, are KIOTI and TYM OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE. I was kidding but there are similarities. I wonder if those armrest will fit my seat, **** it is the same. I just double checked some pictures and this is the same seat top that is in my TYM, that means are-rest can be had. Now how to get them. That is my one complaint inside.
