Bobg you are right, I get Case and IH, and CASEIH confused sometimes they have been in bed so long I just include them as one. But I have heard from credible people that soemone, I thought Mahindra was the original factory that built the military Cases, or IH tractors durinng the war, and they bought the factory form eihther Case or IH way back. I am not 100% sure of the whole story but I swore it was Korea. It was something like that. And was anyone here present at the Korean war? I think the military used CASE at the time?

Sorry, but Mahindra is not in Korea (they're in India), they built Willys jeeps after WWII under lic in their own plant in India...that's how they got started. They then built International (not Case) tractors under IH lic starting in the '60s. Now they build their own larger utility tractors in India. BobG in VA

It's real easy then...enjoy your tractor...I'll enjoy mine.
Just don't nail other brands because it's not the one you chose.

The only machines I've a problem with are grey market and the manufacturers who have little dealer support in the US market. They're a poor risk (IMHO) for purchase.

Roy, like I said re-read my post I never said one negative thing or slandered one other tractor NOT ONE TIME. IM not a "hater" I like them all. TYM is not a gray market tractor, in my opinion, neither Is Jimna. They have dealers everywhere. Jinma they are crude they are cheap, and they out sell all the rest in other parts of the world, it is not my fault, but it is true.

Now Roy, your a man, call the John Deere number I gave you and reply the following

"Paul, I am sorry you were right, John Deere does not make anything under 100 h.p in the us" I am sorry we thought you were lying.
I would kind of like Builder to say the same thing.

Guys I am not mad it is all in good internet talk, but make sure what you say, or if you
bash another new guy like me, you are 100% right, not what you THINK. People talk about internet "rumors and myths" I have found most of those
are spread by the most credible people ;) You all liked my "fair honest" review until I made a statement that the mass majority did not agree with, and then my fair honest review that was "refreshing" went to a biased other brand hater rant. Well the statement I made was true, and the review I gave was fair, and if this thing is junk I will be back to tell the world.

That is all I need. :)

Guys this is turning into a pissing contest and that is not what I wanted, I typed too much. I did what I thought was a fair review I was very suprised and so far I am happy, if it is junk I will tell you.

I never join forums, and I know why, you should never rock the boat of popular opinion. I have spent 2 hours writing a 18000 word disertation to proove what I said was true. Now was it worth it, not really. I should have just let the rest think they were right.

But what I said was fact, if you want the number to John Deere in Waterloo private message me and I will give it to you and you can call John Deere, please do not give the number out, I am sure my dad will be pissed now, for giving it to anyone. Then tell the truth.

Guys my dad just called to talk and here is another one, my dad said would make everyone go bull, lets throw gas on the fire

He bought a 1980 CAT D4 it was built in "japan", and he thinks it still is.

And John Deere no longer produces surplus tractors. John Deere only builds sold tractors. And if you buy a new tractor from John Deere "made here" "of which are 200h.p and above" they will fly you up and you can drive it off the assembly line, wow what fun.

I told you my dad just left the plant a few days ago., I was not kidding. And yes you can get it any color you want (except red). They had two pink ones on the floor, no kidding. Farmer bought it for two daughers.

Also I want to clarify something: My dad last visited the CAT plant in Peoria, IL, the lot was 80 acres that they stored the equipment, the facility is 640. He said in 92 there was 2 lonely 10's in the corner the rest was weeds it was a sad time for CAT.

I have to go to work, I have carpel tunnel or whatever. Have a great day., PS Roy I am using our John Deere today and i am going to kick it as soon as I get there ;)

Congratulations, this makes the gazillion‘th time a thread has gone from “ I just bought a XYZ tractor” and four threads in turns into it - I only buy american American, Korea, is this, Japan is that, nothings made here, ......YADA, YADA, YADA - Oh and don’t forget to bring up Toyota and “the big three” in the conversation.

SERIOUSLY can we start a thread to discuss nothing but the pro’s and con’s of buying foreign and and leave all the ***** out of valuable info regarding a particular brand. I got it, lets call it BUY AMERICAN ONLY

Do a search for yourself and find out how many times “ Buy america America comes up. 106 threads with 2000 - 4000 reply’s DO WE NEED ONE MORE - I don’t think so.

Lets keep it on point and discuss what’s presented so we can learn about the brand being discussed, without having to trudge through all the insipid garbage, of this tractor is made blah, blah, blah, and this part is made, blah, blah, blah, and this and that is made ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I agree it was mostly my fault, I like what I bought, I am not justifying it. I had no idea that all the treads go this way. But it is sad that almost nothing is made here anymore including Deere, people should know the truth and stop bashing the guys that buy Kubota or TYM or something else. they are all made somewhere else, and that is a FACT.

im out.

Roy did you call John Deere, I gave you the number. Who is going to vindicate me? Man up admit when your wrong I do all the time. Come on Roy it is all in good fun, nothing wrong with being wrong from time to time.

The main point of this for the people who search:
Tym makes a pretty good tractor from what I can tell. I picked it to set amongst a stable of Massey, Cases and a 2 John Deeres.

John Deere does not make anything under not only 100, but 200 h.p in the US, Rumor Squashed. Now that is a good fact for the site. They need to put up a
fact forum, to kill this stupid stuff. All John deere owners should have to put "MY TRACTOR IS FOREIGN TOO" next to there name. As much as I DO NOT LIKE IT, we are in a global economy.

The 4xxx series Powertech engines (40-50 HP) are manufactured by Deere. Components are purchased with some inhouse manufacture. These components are purchased both within the US and from other countries. Per Deere's inhouse magazine, the crankshafts are manufactured internally (by Deere), but I think this refers to larger engines which are used for tractors, industrial engines and marine use.

Some other Deere tractors, such as my 790, are Yanmar manufactured.

That said, Deere (being a very large and profitable company) has facilities all over the world, as well as sales worldwide. I would think there are multiple locations for some of these components (due to shipping costs). Engines are assembled both within the United States and outside.

As I'd written in one of those PM's, one of the customer's we (a screw machine shop, just outside York PA) had was Deere. These were machined parts (a lot of connecting rod pins plus other components...but mostly rod pins). These parts ranged from ¾" to over an inch in diameter.

So, where are Deere's manufactured? All over...but the larger CUT's (4xxx series) are assembled in Georgia. Other machinery is built in other US facilities.

So, why did you bring Deere into this thread in the first place?
