looking hard at a new foton 824 with cab and air. could someone that owns one of these give me some input on them. will be using it for making hay. pulling an older NH round baler,raking,mowing.hauling round bales.mowing pastures.will they hold up on a day to day basis.also does the air and heat work good.please help if you can thanks for your help.

We have sold several of the Foton FT824 tractors with cab and air, they are nice tractors and seem to hold up well,The air blows cold I think you will be happy with it

Roper, I went to your profile for a location - and unfortunately found absolutely no information whatsoever. There are some versions of the 824 that reportedly have a significant harmonic vibration problem (notably those sold by Rural King).
I'm inclined to think however, that Tommy's probably selling the version that had that vibration issue dampened out.

Is this the place you are talking about?
I live an hour north. One of the Farm workers at the university I work for, took one for a test drive and complained that it was so noisy in the cab he couldn't think straight. I personally haven't been around one to know if he was kidding or that he just doesn't like Chinese made tractors.

The noise is the plastic liner on the metal in the cab. The liner is not bound to the metal. The noise does decline within a few hours as the tractor is broken in.
Again theres no glue between the poly liner and the metal backing.

They do have a tendency to be a bit noisy, the ones Ive tried but I wear ear protection when in any cab. They seem to be an alright tractor. For the diffrence in price between green or orange, I can put up with a bit of noise.

I doubt they're noisier than and old IH 1066 and lots of people deal with them and it's way better than an open station tractor in hot dusty hay.
I have a foton 824 its loud as **** in the cab, the air sucks, had trouble with the hyd but after three trips from the dealer its fixed, and last of all we had to fix the clutch after three years and about 3000 bails of hay later. All we use this tractor for is cutting and some raking. Its a good tractor all in all. We own john deeres that cost so **** much, so we were trying someting cheaper out and thats what we got. After raging on it its good for cutting, raking, mowing. Its 4x4 is awsome we own feed lots and mud is always an issue but it goes right threw. The real question is would i buy one again if i was a younger guy yes for me to run no, But my kids yes there younger and can handle the butt kicking your going to get running this thing threw a field. I can buy two of these to one deere so cost is good. Power is good but they need to do something about the air it sucks bad. tint the windows and add padding to the hole inside and it helps alot. A small dealer about an hour from me dyno'd one about a couple of years ago, came in at 95hp pto if I remember correctly. I think they have a perkins which are good engines.

In reality it's a Perkins clone. Chinese industry in general seems uninterested in conforming to patent law (relative to international treaties)

Perkins was in a Joint venture with that factory that's how they could use the Perkins name ,the Chinese engine factory and Perkins did not agree on the several things and Perkins pulled out.The Chinese factory keep building the engines under the Perkins specs

I would pass on it if it were me. My dad has a Foton 904 with 712 hrs on it now.He bought it new for around $22,000 4x4 cab air radio no loader. We have farmed our whole life and had many different tractors. Before I bash it I should say it will get the work done your talking about, exactly what we do with ours.
But like some others have said it is loud in the cab, the ac is poorly designed and will not keep you cool inside if outside temp is above 85. We have tint and plugged up all the holes we could and there are plenty. Paint is terrible there is no primer so it comes off and starts to rust. The radio just makes more noise so it is useless. The exhaust pipe looks like a muffler but if you take it off you can see through it, just a straight pipe. I would like too say to the other poster that a 1066IH would be loud, but a good loud. Not just gear whine and engine knocking away. The seat is about the same as a lawnmower seat.
As for breakdowns here is a sort of list :rpm sensor,pto shaft snapped off,power steering leak under dash. that all I can remember. I am mowing crp ground now with a bush hog 2415. I get 2or3 hour in the morning then it gets too hot for me and the tractor. Also it don't have a inner air filter. My advise too you sir is too go buy a forty year old USA tractor in good cond. you will be alot better off. Lildobr
