That always a fun ride when you push on the pedal and it pushes back or nothing there. In my youth (10 years ago) I ran my loadstar to and from work for a few days with no brakes waiting on a hydravac. Truck had a taste for them.

IF you have a good ear and a tack that works, then you can shift without the clutch. Myself, I would use the double clutch method until I got real familiar with the truck long before I would try shifting without. A little background for you, I have 50 years of trucking under my butt and most of it I shifted without the clutch AFTER I got familiar with the trannys.
