Only if the transmissions are not synchronized, right? The only ten speeds I've driven were synced, but they were from the 70s. If the 2speed is unsynchronized, I'd bet the single is too. It's not hard to double clutch at all, and if they are unsynchronized, you can "float" the gears, or shift without the clutch. That seems to be the method of choice for the big rigs.

If your asking me .. The picture is of my 59 international ... That baby is fine ... Lost brakes this week appears to be the booster under the drivers side on the frame ... So I'm searching a rebuilt kit or a rebuilt unit .. That's a down fall when u own own that age

That always a fun ride when you push on the pedal and it pushes back or nothing there. In my youth (10 years ago) I ran my loadstar to and from work for a few days with no brakes waiting on a hydravac. Truck had a taste for them.

My dad worked for a dairy farm in western New York years ago. He was driving their old grain truck and lost the brakes on a run. Sailed right through an intersection. Luckily, no traffic and no ditch on the other side. He was able to coast it to a stop once he got past. You can bet some brake lines got replaced in a hurry!

IF you have a good ear and a tack that works, then you can shift without the clutch. Myself, I would use the double clutch method until I got real familiar with the truck long before I would try shifting without. A little background for you, I have 50 years of trucking under my butt and most of it I shifted without the clutch AFTER I got familiar with the trannys.

Oh yeah, I forgot that a truck like that would probably not have a tachometer. Having the tach really helps the learning curve for shifting without a clutch. I suppose you could install one. If the tranny is unsynchronized, you'd want one either way, right double clutching or floating?
