Got two now myself, the only thing better would be three! Shhhh don't tell my wife!

Believe it or not my wife just bought us the 3rd modern tractor a baby Deere X748 for yard work, mowing and SNOW BLOWING (my town set Connecticut's record since 1886 or so for a one day total last year along with many other records like 7 to 8 feet snow on the ground with none melting.

Now back to the 1500. I think it's too small and I believe spare parts are or are becoming an issue.

In my 50 years of tractoring I have had machines on both sides of the 1500. Several years on a Ford 1710. The step up from a 1710 to a larger framed 2120 was huge. I am still running a 2120 23 years later and still love it. The larger frame makes it feel and act like a much large maching.
Ford and New Holland made 10's of thousands of 2120 and if you could find a good HSS one I don't think you go wrong.

No matter what brand I think you will find the 1500 way to small as soon as the newness wears off and you try to do real work.

I'd recommend that you get something with at least 35 PTO HP and a heavy frame.

Best of Luck

Andy

or 6 or 10... I hear ya.. same deal with me..

sure makes it faster than changing an implement.. just leave each implement hooked to a tractor instead!

Looked at the L275,older Kubota, needs tires,he is having the hydraulic arms for the loader repaired as one leaks badly, the other one he didn't know about until I showed it to him.

Has a little play in the steering that I think can be fixed by tightening up the bolts holding some plates on top of the hubs.

Dropped price to $5000 from $5500.

Tires are the big sticking point, not sure how much that will cost.

I don't see 'deal' written anywhere on that, except for the seller.. just my opinion...

tires ain't cheap. I'm not sure what size it has.. But I'd look them up.

steering rebuilds can be expensive.. depends on exatly what is wrong. I rebuild alot of OLDc ford boxes and am good at it and know what to expect. i've helped others working on some scut boxes, newer 'frod', yanmar and kubota... In some cases there are NO replaceable wear parts.. no bushings enve.. let alone bearings.. if a housing is cut.. it's a NEW part you need..

i'd investigate what prts are worn.. tie rods, drag links, sector gears.. etc.. etc.. befor ebuying. if it's power steering.. it becomes even more expensive.

find out the tire costs, possible ideas of the steering, and then go from there based on the loader.

it's about a 27engine hp machine.. 23 at the pto...and is it 4x4 or 2x4? early 80's model.. i'd also check about general parts availability.. especially front axle parts if 4x4. loaders are hard on front axles.. and I've noticed a trend on jap scut and small cut 4wd tractors from that time period.. IE.. many are hard to get parts for.. nat saying that one is.. but I'd pick a few of the spendy parts and then call around and see what they go for..

Unfortunately I didn't write down the tire size...but know the fronts were 16''.

It appears to be loose bolts,of course why do the bolts keep cooming loose and can they be tightened...It is hard to explain(especially when I don't actually know the part names) but it is where the drag links attach...
If you look here,it is the part at the top that is not numbered or identified(of course)where the grease fitting(no 1) is shown going in.

The website above is helpful as it gives wheel size.

4wd.

Looking briefly at that website, parts are available(pretty amazing) and look to be priced reasonably enough.

i'd look at the holes in that casting if they keep coming loose. either worn out bolts or worn / stripped threads.. or improper torque.

It might be from a lot of use in the past year, the guy selling it stated he had used it to clear the trees and brush off his 5 acres.

I have until Friday to move on it,he is busy at work and can't show it to anyone else until the weekend.

Priced tires off the internet,$120 each for fronts, around $200 for rears.
Then mounting,liquid filling,etc,etc...

Hmm,probably looking at over $800 all told.

Alright,found ANOTHER Ford,this one is a 1620,loader,just under 3300 hours,1995 model,hydro trans and 4wd.Asking $5900.

From reading here, seems like a good little tractor and quite capable, the hydro trans would be nice for all concerned.

I think the smaller size would be helpful getting in among the trees here.
