Bob, bowhunter, shopping

Thanks for that, I was thinking R4 but leaning more towards heavy only because my F250 can make it up the dune in 4x4 while my jeep wrangler can't. now, as i read this, i'm thinking light, longest wheelbase, R4 might work best

Here's one of the slopes i'm talking about, taken from the top of the dune looking down towards the street

Based on your first post I envisioned bare sand dune/beach type area. The picture you posted looks more like mature woods. If your heavier vehicle gets good traction and transcends the slopes better than your lighter vehicle, I would think the heavier CK30 or the LK3054XS would also do better than the lighter tractors you spoke of. Just an observation...

I, too, have sandy property and have no problem whatsoever with rutting with my CK20HST with R4 tires. The type of sand you have will bear a very heavy piece of equipment without a problem. If there was a mix of clay in that, I'd go lighter, but you should be fine with a heavy tractor, but use R4s for the wider footprint.
As a matter-of-fact, I drive my > 12,000# motorhome all over on the sandy property with no problem. A CK30, or similar, should do just fine. John

Don and John,

Thanks, here's another view of the future driveway and yes in the summer it looks like the woods, there's sand under there.

I too have looked at the B3030, B7800 and the LK3054 and CK30. Pricing seems to be about the same on these, around 23k for the Kubotas TLB packages and around 20K for the Kiotis. This would be for gear drive, BH75 on the Kubotas and 2375 on the Kiotis. IMHO about the same quality in terms of fit and finish, the main differences are in weight and ground clearance as far as I can tell. The two Kubotas are about half the weight of the Kiotis. The Lk3054XS TLB has the least ground clearance, but I suspect that adding the BH to the Kubotas will reduce their ground clearance as well. Kubotas ground clearance is listed at close to 14 in. If this is going to be enything like choosing a motorcycle, I'm going to end up with at least a couple of them in a couple of years. I do have to thank the people here on TBN for sharing their knowledge and their advice, I really appreciate it.

Hello, I have gotten a few more quotes, a bit better i must say, 15,900 for ck30 hst, loader and r4 tires. Was informed that one of the dealers also sells woods loaders, and the one for the ck is capable of 1400 lbs lifting. I thought that was great to know, its only 300 more and has a quick attach.. Anyway thanks to all for their help, im still trying to find a dealer thats reasonably close to match my deals.. Matt

Looks like a pretty tough call. Can you get the dealers to bring them out to your property to test them to see if they will climb the drive? Small & light or large & heavy . . . Which do you like better? Which dealer gives you that warm & fuzzy feeling?

I use to operate a tractor about half the weight of the CK30. IMO the CK30 has a very substantial feel. I got a real stable, secure feeling that the tractor was firmly attached to the ground, yet it manuvered effortlessly. I attributed this 'feel' to the designed-in weight of the tractor.

You'll find the CK30 to be physically larger, have larger tires and a larger alternator, 3.2 gpm greater hydraulic pump output & 464# greater 3 point lift capacity, compared to the B3030. I favor the loader on the CK30 for it's curved arms, slightly higher lift capacity and higher maximum lift height.

The new B3030 has eliminated the clutch and gone to a hydraulically activated PTO.

IMO, They are both fine quality machines.

( Hello all, Im fairly new to this site, Ive been looking for a tractor is the 30 hp range. I have to admit ive been leaning for the new B3030 kabota. From what ive read here the Ck 30 seems to be a nice machine but im a bit confused on its pricing. I thought i read the ck30hst with loader and r4 tires was priced in the mid 15000 range. Yet i called the closest dealer to me and he quoted me a price of 19000. I thought he must be joking... Does anyone have a fairly recent price quote..? Thanks for any help.. Matt )

I was quoted $15,500 for CK30hst with FEL last October. Also, the Kubota with specs that match up closely with the CK30 is the L3130 and not the B3030. You really are doing an apples to oranges thing putting those two against each other.
