Been 12 years since I posted this post. Just reading through again and the advice on the weld placements is much appreciated particularly the stagger spacing of the welds on the c-channel. Didn’t properly thank the posters, thank you.

Ha, and im reading it, so its all good, i have all wood tools, and my delta 36-600 tablesaw motor just burnt out, 300 bucks for a 25 yr old saw, nope, santa will get me grizzly for $1000, should be my last, but i was really wanting to get a welder for xmas and build my own stuff, such as a better grill guard. 58 and i have never used a welder, wouldnt know where to start as far as buying one.

I just read this for the first time, and those were indeed some nice looking welds for your bucket hooks. Just curious how they've held up over the last 12 years, if you even have the same tractor. (Looking at your profile it appears that you still do.)
What I really can't believe is that I could still view your pics 12 years later... on most sites they'd be gone by now.
