Looking to buy a new compact tractor

In terms of buying: We are in a strange period as all tractors now coming off assembly lines for sale in USA must be compliant with EPA Tier IV emissions strictures. There are a few Tier III compliant tractors in inventory, not many. The Tier iV tractors are generally 20% higher in price. So if you see the tractor you want, buy now.

I probably won't buy one until this spring, I'm just doing research now. Just want to know the different comparable compact tractors for my needs.

Looking for a tractor that has a loader/backhoe/belly mower/three point hitch. I have a lot of loader and backhoe jobs, ditches, clean out areas etc. I want to easily take the loader and backhoe off to mow the lawn (takes over three hours now with a 54" deck garden tractor), also want to use a brush hog.

If I am not mistaken, I think Kubota is the only one that makes a dedicated TLB (Tractor, Loader, Backhoe) in that size. If that's what you want, that might be your best option. It will have a higher capacity hydraulic pump, and will be better suited for a backhoe work.

I think.

Actually, I don't think the Kubota TLB is called the 3200, I think it only has 2 number digits in the model if I'm remembering right.

All of the tractors can be had with a factory backhoe attached, but they're not necessarily built as a TLB with the higher capacity pump.

I don't know of any true TLB's that cut grass.

Ah that's true. .. completely forgot about that. You could always add a front-mounted hydraulic skid steer mower for the front. They are stupid expensive though

I think you might mean the B26? I have the b2920, it can be had with a factory BH (easy to remove, takes 5 minutes solo), 3 pt hitch (mid and rear), loader and a belly mower. There are 3 varieties (b2920, b2620 and b2320) in that particular class. If you want bigger or smaller there are series on either side, though the bigger one starts to limit belly mower options I believe. I have done a ton of loader, 3pt (mostly a wood chipper) and BH work with mine. Here's a recent project thread showing what the BH can accompish http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/291945-electrical-trenching.html .

I'm not familiar with the other brand you're considering, but I'd recommend sitting in both, doing some lot test drives and get a feel for erganomics. Maybe add / remove accessories (FEL, mower deck, BH) to get a feel for that too. In my case I looked at new holland, kubota and JD and liked the kubota layout the most and the price was decent.

Actually, I mean the B39 or B45. Strong loaders and backhoes on them.

Yes the Kubota B2320,2620,2920 series tractors is the size tractor I am looking for. The BX's are too small and the L is too big. We have two BX's at work for mowing and snow plowing and an L3200 with loader and backhoe, so I am very familiar with those models and I have been impressed with them. But for home I think the B series would be a better choice.

Sorry, I thought you were looking for a real TLB.
