Your issue seems to start with the dealer that should have run you through the operation of your new tractor.

There is a whole lot of truth to that! Well a more in depth I should say. More that just hit the “gas” pedal and go lol. But that’s why we have this forum! Am I right? Lol.

So is everything Good now sounds like you have the hydrostat peddle figured out -less peddle is more when moving/pushing heavy or loaded.

Weren't you having trouble lifting what "should be possible" with the FEL ratings on your tractor.
Were you able to have your dealer check the FEL pressure relief versus specs and adjust to the high side but still in spec? If not it could just be adjusted low which some new owners have reported some Kubota tractors have arrived with pressure set low.

Here's Hoping this can be dialed in to your satisfaction

Yes it’s crazy the less is more but makes total sense after learning how it works.

Yes was having trouble but not now. Only thing I did different was turn off stall guard and auto throttle.

The dealer did say they will check it and pump it up a little over spec a couple hundred PSI. So we will do that when I get a chance to haul it in. Too much work to do to take it now haha.

That will reduce your lift.

Why do you think turning off the stall guard makes the tractor more powerful?

I don’t know how ‘smart’ Auto-throttle is on our units. I‘ve only used it occasionally when roading. No hills here. On the surface I can see the impulse to press harder on the go pedal while using Auto-throttle to increase RPM’s/power/speed. At the same time you would be in effect shifting up gear wise. Double edged sword it would seem.

I like stall guard when mowing heavy grass. It will slow or even halt my ground speed in order to maintain PTO RPM’s and prevent stalling the engine.

Make sure you have heavy ballast on the rear. A rake is pretty light. The difference between a L3560, l4060 & the bigger Grands is the front axle. The bigger axle let's them put the bigger loader on. Different engines & some different tires but the rest of the chassis is the same.

Front axle seals & bearings are a weak spot on the L4060. Heavy rear ballast unloads weight off the front axle & prolongs their life when carrying heavy things.

Every machine has a weak spot. My old L3200 had insufficient ballast to keep the back end down even with a rotary cutter & couple feed bags on the back. My L4060 either has a weak spot of the front axle or hydraulics. Ideally the hydraulic relief valve being the weak spot is your best case scenario.

I'm in Colorado (-20% oxygen & HP) so my L4060 runs like a L3560 here. I road my machine a lot from job to job. On steep public roads it drops down to around 6.5mph. On flat ground it's around 12. Downhill with a tailwind is 15. I also run a huge flail mower. So I would like more HP & a L6060, but what I have gets the job done very adequately.

I turn off the stall guard & other stuff. When mowing I'm generally regulating engine load with the go pedal. I push the machine until RPMs drop a few hundred then ease off too keep up maximum acres per hour. Stall guard really fights that a lot & is annoying. Auto throttle doesn't do much for me either. Would be handy for puttering & forklift stuff. But I get use to just leaving it at half throttle for puttering & full throttle for working it hard. Then let the HST pedal milk max performance from the engine.

I try re-enabling all the functions once a year or so, then turn them off again as I remember why I don't like them.

I had a Massey Ferguson 1643 Hydro with loader. After eight years, I couldn't take the hydro any longer and replaced it with a 4707 and Powershuttle (12x12). Very much prefer gears and now I'm happier.

Increasing pressure to the loader would reduce the lift? That ain’t making sense.

I did too. Actually wanted that but a few reasons I steered from it. One was the possibility of hitting neutral between gears could happen. And being in steep hills with very little to no flat ground I didn’t want to risk it with the kids or ol lady as they’re going to be operating it too. This one was going to be the easiest for them to help out around the property.
The other was the availability now to jump in the a seat and get to work.
