LS vs Kubota vs Bobcat hydro "smoothness"

I echo the comments of Canada CT230. My Bobcat CT 235 is smooth as silk.

I have the LS 3040 and have not noticed any abruptness. This is my first HST so maybe I just do not know any better.

50 hours and love the LS!

I'll bump this up. Anybody else want to chime in on how smooth your hydrostatic operation is? I've heard that some Kiotis are a little unresponsive.

I have a dk35se kioti and have no problems with my hst. The power is smooth as it is applied and relieved in any range under any load. I test drove a kub l3800 that too had smooth hst.

Very impressed with my Kioti HST. Very responsive, 0 noise, holds neutral, it can go from a slow creep to full in a few seconds. Reaction time is a little slow in low range but any faster you would be spinning tires or breaking parts. I do hydraulics for a living so I have a little more insight than most. So far no complaints with the Kioti/Bobcat HST

So would you guys say that you don't have any "surging" issues? I'm going to the dealerships tomorrow to look at tractors. One of the annoyances with my tractor is that when I'm taking off I usually have to slip the clutch quite a bit to take off smoothly, and then if the RPMs are high I'll still get a bit of a lurch up to speed. This is one of the reasons I want to get a HST -- I want to go very smoothly from full stop to traveling without any lurches or jumps.

I have absolutely ZERO lurching issues with my CT-235.
Sounds like you could have clutch issues if you are surging with a gear tractor

It's not surging on my gear tractor, it's just that last little half inch of clutch travel when it goes into gear and takes off. It's just not the smooth engagement I want when I'm doing delicate work.

James, I think now IS the time, you are right. The question is which tractor, but I am ready for HST and 4x4. Hey, I see you updated your signature. Did you get your new tractor yet??
