I have an M4900 w/loader and I carry two of those bales at a time. Installed a spear on the loader and it helps to drop them in the hay racks.Also helps in stacking bales. Love my tractor.

Yes, I purchased it with the loader. By far the most useful implement on my tractor. I would never be without a loader again. It can be used for so many things and sure has saved my back a few times. Ha! I will try to get some pics soon.

I too have an M4900 and have been very happy with it. No problems in 3 plus years and I use it like it was ment to be used.

I have an M4800 with a Bushhog M346 loader, heavy duty 6' bucket, hay spear, and Andy Tatro Grapple. I use it to clear woods, bushhog, move hay, disk, turn, plow, and plant crops.

Last year I had 3 acres of field corn and 2 acres of pumpkins. I spent 10 hours last weekend preparing ground to plant this year. I plan to plant 8-10 acres of field corn, 3 acres of White field corn to eat (sell at the farmer's market), and 2 acres of pumpkins.

It's been a good all around tractor.

Thanks for posting the pics guys! It's good to see those tractors and what they do. Like I first said mine came to me without the FEL so it's something I'd like to have but haven't been able to justify spending the money as of yet.

Jay, like you, my M 6800 was purchased without a loader. I used it for 3 years for bush hogging, plowing, etc. I really did not think I needed one. However last year, after reading more posts about FEL topics, especially the use of a grapple, I decided to buy a FEL. THe Kubota zero percent made this more palatable. Now, I don't see how I did without it. It opens up a whole new level of purposes. If you don't have one, you are only using 1/2 of your tractor's potential. My grapple is without a doubt, my most useful implement that I own, and the most fun to use. By the way, I never use my bucket. It sits under my shed. I don't often need it. Of course, others may use it.

Jay, bought this Feb. 09. Loader was LA1002 bought without a bucket. Cost: $4100 Tach-All adapter QA (since this FEL was not skid steer compatible) $695 WR Long electric over hydraulic valve $600 Markham Grapple 48" beefed up version $1460 Markham Bucket (either a 60" or 72"???) $623 Markham tooth bar $272 install labor $120

Total costs: about $7870

If I had it to do over, I would have left off the bucket and tooth bar, as I never use it. And if my FEL was already skid steer ready, I could have saved the $695. But I must say that I have gotten my money's worth out of this. It is a land clearing machine!! I have about 6 miles of trails and woods roads to maintain. Every year I had to spend days chainsawing trees and overhanging limbs and dragging them off by hand. And even then, it seemed the roads got narrower and narrower. This year we grappled and uprooted trees to widen the roads. Other overhanging limbs were dropped into the road and "raked" up with the grapple and carried away. We created giant piles of debris. The days of dragging limbs and chainsawed debris are over if you have a grapple.

Question for M series owners:

How many RPM's must you run your engine before the 3 point hitch operates?

When I purchased my used M5700 it had a backhoe on it. It did not have a 3 point hitch only the cat ll. The previous owner never used the cat ll hitch. I now want to add and use the 3 point hitch for mowing. When I have the engine at idle (approximately 1100 rpm) and move the position control lever the cat ll doesn't move. I have the 3 point lowering speed knob set somewhere between fast and slow. The backhoe is still attached but I would think the cat ll hitch would still operate.

What am I missing?
