M4D-071 Maximum Operating Weight

I don't own an M4D-071. I'm trying to compare it to other tractors to decide which one best fits my needs to decide which one to purchase. I've been able to get free downloads of the manuals for two others, which I have read, but not for the M4D-071. I'd rather not purchase the owners manual without owning the tractor especially when I might buy a model from a different manufacturer.

I would not ever buy a used tractor without the owners manual being included, especially a late model on and I'd also want all the maintenance records as well When I sell an implement or tractor, I ALWAYS include all the documentation with it. How I roll. That includes all the receipts for any parts or filters or anything I purchased for it. Buying a tractor without any documentation is like putting on your shoes with no socks.

I want to use a 3pt no till drill for pasture reseeding. Something like this 3P606NT Compact Drills | Land Pride

With the tractor ballasted that's getting pretty heavy for something in this size range.

Both my M9's will easily handle that and larger. Not that I'd buy one new, I'd peruse Tractor House for a good used one first. Because a drill isn't an often used implement, better to buy used than new.

I, also, have often wondered what happens to all the Owners Manuals/Operators Manuals. There HAS to be one with a new tractor. When I traded in my Ford 1700 - the Op Manual and all my service records when with the tractor. I KNOW the new owner got them. I had my email address and phone # on the inside cover page. He called me to answer a couple questions. I was very pleased to see that he read these documents. The 1982 Ford 1700 that I purchased, brand new, is still running great and is being properly serviced.

Drill is one ton empty and two ton full.

3307 lift capacilty. (1.5 ton)

Might just be enough tractor if you don't plan on filling the drill to max weight.

The M4 would have no problems with that drill. If anything you might have to shift down on inclines.

You don't need the tires filled either. R1's will do just fine. Remember, the more weight you add (to the rear tires) the more compaction you get. Myself, I never load my tires with anything except air. For me loaded rears are a big no as they crush my hay plants and reduce yield.

Looking at the specs, I think you’re going to be very light on the front end with that drill.

I'm on some pretty serious slopes, so I really want the ballast for extra stability. As long as the tire's psi is the same shouldn't compaction be the same ballasted or not?

I could live with not filling the drill all the way up. 1000lbs of seed or so is all I would expect to need in one shot, but I'm wondering if with ballasted tires and 3300lb on the back if I'd be overloading the machine.

I'm comparing the M4D-071 against the TYM T754. It lists a maximum operating weight of 12566lbs. The M4D-071 has a tighter turning radius, which would be handy for me though.

NO. The heavier the tire and rim are, the more compaction you have. I do slopes too. I just shift into FWA.
