Well my tractor got to the dealer today, I stopped by, they had installed stereo and upgraded the speakers, welded hooks on the bucket and loaded the back tires, shes lookin good, to be delivered tomorrow! :thumbsup:

Dealer delivered my new M9540 this afternoon. Here are a few pics.

Some observations after putting 3 hours mowing on her...Whatever concerns I had about the A/C were a waste of time, it was a little cooler outside today, around 94F, but after 5 minutes in the cab I had the fan speed on 1, my feet and legs actually got cold, I see no real reason to tint the windows other than to reduce glare, we will see when it gets in the 100's. Great A/C system.

The turning radius is phenomenal, way better than my Farmall, very impressive and makes mowing/shredding a ton easier.

My dealer sent it to a stereo shop to get the Kenwood radio/cd player installed-I had them go ahead and upgrade the speakers, nothing real expensive, just better than stock, man did it make a difference, sounds great and the stereo came with a remote- I highly recommend the remote control. Are we spoiled or what?

Still trying to get used to the shuttle, dont feel comfortable not using the clutch, but time will cure that.

Found the best speed/gear to use for mowing my thick King Ranch Bluestem to be 2.9 mph which is Low 3rd gear, 2200 RPM, 540 PTO. A little slow but a great cut with my Woods 120.

One annoying thing, and I have not had time to explore it plus they forgot to send the owners manual, but when turning the steering wheel it feels and sounds like when my pickup is low on power steering fluid, don't know if there is a loose belt or maybe low on hydraulic fluid? The FEL works great, very responsive, but the steering whine is annoying and hopefully one of you guys with wisdom can direct me on this issue, for sure I'm going to get it resolved before I crank her up tomorrow. (Maybe this is normal? I hope not).

Otherwise, this is a GREAT piece of equipment, very comfortable and strong-feeling, love the cab, A/C, radio and engine, plus it matches my Skag zero-turn mower in color! Appreciate any help with the steering whine.

Also would you gents advise mowing in 4WD? Just a thought.

super nice tractor. My uncle has the same one, only a couple of years older now. I did notice the steering whine, but is was only when turned nearly all the way to one lock or the other. Hey you're not cutting down hay, just to use your new tractor are you? ha ha.

I have a M9540 also. I don't mow in 4WD except when I'm in the muck or on some of my mild sandy slopes.
My power steering does not make any unusual noises. May just be a noise because it's new.
I think for average ranching type work, you will like the work ability of this tractor. If you like the AC, just wait until January. On a cold rainy day, you will LOVE the heater.

We have essentially the same tractor, M8540 HDC 12/12, even the same motor. Our power steering makes no noise; easy to steer and as you noted turns bery sharp. I rarely need to use the steering brakes.

We pull a Wood DS1260 pull type and the only time we use 4WD is going up or down slopes which we have quite a few or mowing across slopes especially along the edges of our ponds.

We keep it parked when it's muddy, but use it to muck out a pond and sunk it to its belly, but could always get it out with the FEL and the limited slip differential.

The more you use it, the more you will like it.

Did you look in the back of your seat for the manuals?

Looks nice! I only run 4x4 when there is a chance I may find a wet spot and when im pulling the sandy hills.
