Any thoughts on the Mahindra tractors? Right now considering a JD 3320 or 3038e. The Mahindra 4010 and 4035 are very interesting.

I would say that the both the 4010 & 4035 would out work either of the JD models that you are looking at. But then they are in a different size class of tractors. If you are considering other than JD now, then you may want to consider these other makes also. For the money that you are looking to spend, you can get waaaaay more tractor with any of the Korean or Indian machines. Kioti, LS or TYM & I guess that you are looking at Mahindra now also. More tractor = easier-faster to get the work done. Spending $20+k warrants looking at them all in my book, even if they are a few hours away. Probably should consider Kubota also. They all make good tractors. They are not all the same price as it sounds like you are realizing.

Take your time, don't be in a hurry and good luck with your research and the decision. ;)

Just my :2cents:

Brian - Yes - I am slowing down and researching this topic deeper. How have you liked your Mahindras? Yes I am considering other than JD. I realize the price premium helps with resale, but I only want to buy one tractor and keep it for a while.. I also like the 5 year warranty of the Mahindra. What gets me about JD is the pricing. They are all over the place from dealer to dealer.

Do research tonight I found that I could get a really nice 4010 4wd 3 sp Hydro tranny with loader, 0% for 84 months for under $20k and since it is out of state, no sales tax too.

I am checking out the Kioti and Kubotas too. It seems the Orange machines are higher priced than the other competitors.

Thanks for the advice

I have been extremely happy with both of my Mahindra's. Not that they are the perfect tractor, (I don't think that such a thing exists :2cents:) but have been reliable over the past 8 years. ;) Keep in mind that the 4010 is actually a TYM tractor with a few things being different. I might be wrong, but I think that you get more extras for less money if you were to buy the TYM brand in that tractor. Any of these tractors will work for you, you just need to get the one that you are the most comfortable with. I believe at this point in time that the Kiot's and LS tractors are probably the best bang for your buck machines.

As far as resale, I personally would not and do not even consider that into the equation unless used for work and would be sold at the end of depreciation, and then only because it would be easier to sell a well known brand.

Good luck.

Hey Brian - I ended up going with the 4035 PST with Loader, 3rd function switch and an Everything Attachments 60 inch Wicked Root Rake Grapple. I got a great package and the out of state dealer worked with the Regional Sales Rep to find me a good dealer for service work to be performed. Turns out they are less than 50 miles from the property the tractor will be kept at. I am looking forward to it.

Thanks

Rob

Mind if I ask what you paid? I've been looking for something in the same size range though am currently leaning Kioti.

Thanks,
Carlos

Hey Carlos - I am getting a 4035 with ML 120 loader for $25500 cash price. I am very happy with my deal. Please feel free to PM the member who posted the Mahindra 4035 PST video. He is the sales professional I have been working with. There are some great offerings right now like 0% for 84 months. You also get a 5 yr warranty. I highly recommend that you contact him.

Carlos - I have been working with Max at Safeway Mahindra in Burgaw NC. I highly recommend them. He worked with the Regional Sales Rep to find me a good place near me for service. They have all sorts of videos too. He filmed that video for me since no dealers near me had one. Safeway is the number 2 Mahindra dealer in the US with one dealership. They move over a hundred machines a year. Bottom line - They know the equipment, they can get the equipment and they will make you a deal. So far, Safeway Mahindra and Max have taken care of me.

No offense (honest), but for $25,500, he can get a more capable machine if he goes with a Kioti DK45SE Hydro than a 4035?more engine/PTO power, more FEL lift, more pump flow, etc, etc. I think the only thing the 4035 is ahead is in 3pt lift, and that doesn't usually factor in until you're looking at the big machines.

The 4035 is a good machine, no question, but they cost a bit more for equal performance when compared with a Kioti at this point. The Mahindra warranty is a bit better, but not a massive difference.

Make sure to post some pics when you get it dirty!

No offense taken. You did bring up some really good points. I called the Kioti dealer near my property never returned my calls

I've heard the same thing about pretty much every brand out there, and you wonder how some of these places stay in business! I've had one or two dealers not call me back, and I could never get the local Kubota/Case guy to call me back when I was interested in a clean MF he had on the lot….crazy.

I could not agree with you more on that. It really does make someone wonder how they stay in business. Sad thing is these guys somehow stay in business and give their brand a bad name. The one dealer would have only been about 8 miles from my house. His loss. I see him staying in business too long. I had JD guys that would not even come over and greet you when you walked in. After listening to their conversations, they were Bull Sh*tting about the night before. I did not buy from them either.
