Ford 640. Mahindra 4530
My Mahindra 4530 we just got has a loader and currently the position control handle for the 3 point hitch doesn’t work

When you raise the loader the 3 point hitch also raises but to a certain height depending on where the position control handle is set, is this normal or is there something im missing I thought the position control handle was supposed to raise and lower the 3 point hitch, not the loader valve, help please thank you

Sounds like the loader valve is plumbed wrong. Seems to be a lot of that around lately. Does the loader valve have six lines or seven? Should have seven. If so, you need to determine which lines go where on the tractor. You may have a couple that need to be traded around.

Okay will look tomorrow I think it is 7, if so which one should I swap around? I see the have what looks like quick connect couplers on them. Would you have any idea which ones to switch?

It's not the pressure line, so it's going to be two lines coming out of the valve.

So 2 of the 7 lines that come out of the loader valve? Which 2?

One line is pressure. It goes to the side of the valve with the pressure relief valve. Four lines go to the cylinders. Two return lines are on the opposite side of the valve from the pressure side. It's the two return lines you need to trade.

There is a line on the far left of the picture, it goes to the back it looks like, then there is 2 on the right, the middle one is pressure I think

Look on the loader valve. That's going to be the easiest place to work. It may look something like this one, which is very common design. You see there is a relief valve. The ports on that side are for pump pressure supply. On the opposite side are outlet (or return ports. You should have two lines connected on that side. Those are the two you want to switch. Those ports could be marked. One with N one with T. Leave the other five lines alone. In most cases you won't need to mess with the lines on the tractor.

Just the two out hoses. Don't fool with any of the others.
Just wanted to tell you thank you so much! This has worked! All I did was swap the 2 around

When the dealer installed a backhoe on a Mahindra 3510, the hydraulic system was big enough to run the bh. When they plumbed it in, the 3pt line fed the bh so my remote (plumbed to the FEL) didn’t work with the BH.

When I bought my first dump trailer it would dump light loads, but failed to raise with any substantial weight in the trailer. The dealer was stumped but eventually figured out that the up and down hoses were reversed on the pump. No they do not always try before we buy.
