Here are a few pics taken this morning. ( I hope I am attaching them, my computer skills are somewhat lacking.)
Be glad when 7-15 gets here and I can start mowing for the CRP set aside.

Nice to hear from you, keep us posted on how it pans out with Mahindra. The hydro is fast when needing to go back and forth! I recently moved 3 chip piles for a neighbor. I could not imagine in that situation clutching and shiftin, I would still be there.:D

Hey Blagg, Pendleton, home of the oldest Rodeo in the nation, The Pendleton Roundup! Never got to ride there but had a lot of fun in Cheyenne at their Frontier Days!

Yes, jasperab, glad to see you back. Understand my (and others) doubting.....a lot of people have come here and said a lot of things over the years that simply weren't true as they tried to build a sympathy case for themselves.

You said the dealer knew about the knock.....did you take it in to the dealer and let him hear it or look at it? I ask because if he or his mech's never actually heard it themselves then your case is pretty difficult without documentation.

I don't know if Mahindra switching over to a new engine is an indication that something was wrong with since, if I recall correctly, they used that engine for years beforehand without too much incident.

But, definitely, if there's been no introduction of moisture into the engine, all fluid levels appear normal and clean, no signs of abuse or owner error.........then to me it would like a machine fault.

Have you contacted Mahindra directly?

Have you folks noticed how the original poster disappeared after the original post and let you guys fight??? If you go down to the Mahindra forums I think you'll find the same thing....with a tad different outcome.....by the way, the Mahindra 4500 doesn't have a solenoid "low on the side of the tractor"....get my drift?? Look at the picture I posted today. It shows the starter location, and the solenoid I had to replace. A small tree snapped back and came up inside the arm of the bucket and snapped it off.

I have only dealt with the dealer, but will try the website Ishvl73 suggested and see what help they can give. I did not contact the dealer when it started knocking, thinking it was only injectors, and I did not have the money to have them fix it then. Still don't!

Mahindra just went to a new engine! Don't you think this may be an indication that there were problems with the old one?

Could be, or it might be they needed to change to meet new emission requirements, or both. ;)

!

I was wonderin' about that as it looked OK to me in the pic. I don't think the 4500 engine has changed in a bunch of years....I may be wrong, but its design is 3 of the 4 cyls of the 6000 model. I don't believe I've ever heard of a rod trying to switch cyls.....As I mentioned in my post in the Mahindra forum, I hope you can get it fixed...did you buy it new or used...?? PS: The Mahindra 4 WD 00 series units has an 8X8 shuttle which is (to me anyway) every bit as easy to use as a hydro.. Good luck...BobG in VA

I took the pictures to my dealer today and he is going to e-mail them to the Mahindra field rep and see what they will do.
