Max/Emax flail mower experience

I tried to get the information i needed from the +500 page flail mower thread in the attachment forum, then talked to a couple of suppliers and ended up being more uncertain then when I started looking into them. Bottom line is I'm wondering if anyone has any operating experience running a 48" 54" 60" flail mower on the Max/Emax tractor. There doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency or hard fast rules on hp vs size. There's a rule of thumb on 5 pto hp/ft, which would put me at a 48". However the 48: tends to be more expensive and has double the knives of the 54" yet the 54" supplier says the tractors too small. The 60" supplier says I'm fine as 20 tractor hp is there minimum. Doesn't make sense. So again if anyone has first hand experience I'd appreciate hearing about it.

My Max 25 makes 20 PTO hp. It handles a 60" Betstsco EF-155 flail just fine for light duty mowing.

Thanks for responding. I ended with the 54 “ Woodmaxx. So far it’s easily handled everything I’ve tried including small pine saplings. Never seen even the slightest drop in engine rpms. I wrote a review on it in the attachment forum
