bad advice could get people in trouble.

Dave your post has value because giving bad advice regarding tractors can be deadly. However, on TBN I think there are very few (if any) members who intentionally give bad advice. When it happens it's usually a case of "you don't know what you don't know" and the poster thinks his advice is good.

Is anyone else concerned?
Some members think they are knowledgeable on all subjects and frequently give bad or dangerous advice.
Appears member of the month posts is the holy grail.

I would propose, if you don't have knowledge on a subject, sit back and learn something. No advice is better than bad advice.

Don't intend to tick anyone off personally. I just find when someone is in need of help, due to lack of experience as I have been on occasion and posted needing help, bad advice could get people in trouble.

With all sincerity, Dave

Do you watch the news?
Do you listen to the politicians?
I have given wrong advice more then once, sometimes it amounts to what you understand at the moment. If I was taking advice from someone on the internet, I would like others mentioned, think about it before acting, maybe do a little more digging in to info. It is a great tool to use for finding info that you may not already have had. Most people are trying to help whether it works out that way or not. Far as that goes, you can get wrong info in person also. :2cents:

Lot's of bad advice I see here is based on someone assuming they know the subject based on their limited experience.
Especially anything that can be related to climate.
My friends down in Mississippi never think about things freezing up when it get's 40 below.
My friends in Vermont don't understand what it's like to work in 110 degrees and 100% humidity.

If people would do a search before posting it would solve a lot of problems.

Hey maybe it is just me but this , TBN , is a FREE internet site for folks to come to and ask for information when their tractor or lawnmower won't start and also maybe have some intersting conversation...My suggestion is , to use a modern term, CHILL OUT !!!!

If you want expert advice...Call your dealer and pay for Expert advice...this thread is stupid in my opinion and a Moderator ought to take it out...Just ridiculours..Talk about kicking a gift horse in the mouth....

That's all I have to say about that...as Forrest Gump would say...Life is like a box of chocolates....you never know what you are going to get !!

I have always been told that you get what you pay for. From now on, to ensure I only give good advice, everyone reading any of my posts must send me $10 per line. This will ensure sound and proper information from me, since I tend to be a bit wordy and will drone on and on when providing my opinions and suggestions. I don't wish to be greedy, but also do not wish to run the risk of being wrong. Since I have no training and very limited personal experience, this the only way I can be assured of providing quality advice.

Thank you for reading and will be waiting patiently for my advice fee. Don't count blank lines, so this is only $50 per reader. thanks! :D

John - I agree - same here only I want $100.00 per reader...and any extra questions will be $50.00 more...

I have complained about the thread and asked for it to be pulled...It is a stupid thread and I have never said that about any other thread...ever !

Hey DaveOmak. I'm curious as to what prompted this thread in the first place. Did you get advice you considered bad? Or did you disagree with advice you saw posted??

Like my dad always says opinions are like a%# holes everybody has one and at times everybody's stinks. ;-)7

I post a lot on this forum and if I post something that is dangerous or wrong, it is unintentional. Please feel free to call me on the carpet. I will not be offended :) Ken Sweet

[anecdote]

I had been waiting in a Radio shack the other day for a minor purchase while a sales girl was talking to a guy about the cell phone he was buying...when I overheard the girl tell him that SIM cards could only be used once and he would need a new one even though he was not changing carriers...
FWIW...I have personally used the same SIM card in at least a half a dozen different phones...I ended up walking out with buying anythng...
