Nice job you did on those attachments barry. I like that scraper bar setup. Digging into that shale and rocky soil must be a real treat! We have mostly sandy soil and clay around here, so its not to bad to work with.
Just came in to cool off for a minute, man you’re not kidding this stuff is murder to break up. I wish I had your sand. I finally got down to where I need to be, now I'm worried about all these roots poking a hole in my new liner. Some of the shale has sharp edges. I put down a 4x8 piece of plywood two tarps and now I building up the sides to make it a little more level. I'll post some more pictures tonight

I'm sure you guys don't mind seeing my trials and tribulations. As a testament to the 180 like all PT's, this thing is a tank. It has been crawling in and out of this hole all day long and has been twisted every direction I can think of with a full bucket. Its 90+ degree’s out today. I just hope I don't bend something pulling up this rock while twisting the PT. Ohh well, that's what I bought it for to do the heavy work.

Thanks on the compliment of the start of the attachments. I'm know compared to some of the things you guys have made and done there nothing, but still in the absence of my mini hoe they have helped keep me from breaking my back so far. I plan to perfect these to be even more useful when I have the time. Also add a few more. Then on to making the mini hoe this 2- 1/2 by 2 - 1/2 steel tubes has proved like you said to be plenty strong, and also the weld job has been really solid, so mini here I come.:)

Cleaning the grass from the belt area of my mower was done annually because it was a pain to remove the six bolts retaining the covers. It is amazing how rapid the covered area fills with grass.

I removed the original cover bolts.

Installed slightly longer bolts from the bottom of the mower deck.

Installed a 90-degree bracket below each front wheel assembly nut.

Drilled one hole behind the covers and installed an eye bolt.

Installed two bungee straps.

This makes removing the covers and blowing the area clean much easier.

For those interested, here are more pictures to add to yesterdays on page 8 of the pond work I'm doing, using two plug in attachments. The first are the two mountains of shale dirt I removed. Then filling in around the pond area where I had to make a PT dirt ramp to access the hole. The last is my cooling station, cooling the PT every 45 minutes. By the way I found my septic tank in the process.

Never ending project. I decided to dig it even deeper, so I bought a second liner more fish and will be working on it again this weekend moving more shale. I think that stuff grows in my yard. If I could sell the stuff I'd be rich by now.:D

I bet everyone is wondering what does this have to do with, and what ever happened to the attachment thread .....:D :D

I'll get back to that soon. I have plenty of ideas and materials, but at the moment no time to work on them. Thanks for asking anyhow, the pond should turn out real nice in the end. :) :)

Im like you I have plenty of ideas for projects that run through my mind but by the time I get out to my shop my ideas have done went out the other side of my mind so I just get my chair out sit down and enjoy until the wife hollers out I thought you were going out and do some brush hogging or lawn mowing so off I go mow the lawn and when I get ready to put the mower away it hits me I was going to make a cart to put my mower on with casters to make it easier to move it out of the way, oh well I'll build that project tomorrow and the cycle goes on.

I have found that my wife can derail a lot of my plans for the weekends. so we now lay out what we intend to do the week before that way there are no questions asked the Friday night before.

In any case I bought a Lacklender 8 inch bucket for a future mini hoe. Since I just have it setting here doing nothing, or until I get more time and money for valves ect. I have seen fixed buckets used as teachers. Not sure if it would be any good as a temporary digger.

I would guess the angle would not work for empting the dirt, or the PT would not have enough power or clearance to dig effectively using it in that manor. I may try it to satisfy my curiosity. Even the 8 inch bucket weighs in at 65 lbs and is very elongated.

I need to dig out some of my window wells and some other projects around here if I thought it would even help dig an elongated hole using a shorter boom. I might mount it until I get around to buying the rest of the stuff.
