Tractor
2001 massey ferguson 471
I have a 471. My fuel filter was I little loose and I didn't know it. I started the tractor and it ran for a bit and died. I'm assuming I have air in the lines. This tractor is a little different than my 1958 so I really can't tell for sure how to bleed the air out please help.

Don't know squat about your tractor but I would break the injector lines at the injectors and crank it over until the fuel flow is solid with no visible air bubbles coming out.

Both my Kubota's have a bleeder screw (small handwheel) on the pumps that evacuate any air in the system. Never had the occasion to use it however.

Check your owner's manual - either in print or online. Bleeding different brands and models varies that much.

One thing for certain and that is, if no air is present at the injector connections, being the end of the line for fuel, no air means the entire system is solid fuel.

Correct.. neither inj pumps that are for that engine, Delphi DP200 (8920) or the VE pumps have a bleeder screw.. so if u can get to the injectors, loosen the nut AT THE INJECTORS just a turn or 2 and crank the engine until fuel squirts out with no air bubbles and tighten..
Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving..
