Went to brush hog for the first time with the tractor (2005 MF1528) with King Kutter 6' rotary cutter. It seems as if the 1528 barely has any lift height. It only picked it up a few inches, where every other tractor I had lifted it to the sky. I store it on 4x4s and it barely took it off of them. Any suggestions?

Do you have the tractor end of your top link in the bottom hole?

It is just the geometry of the 3pt and your hog. Play with it until it is in the right holes to get the lift you want. There is the difference of top link holes mentioned by Mr. Gooding but that is just one of many. Not sure about yours, but many tractors have a selection of holes for pins on the near-vertical links that the hydraulic uses to pick up your lower lift arms of the 3 point. (My Kubotas are that way.) I've had tractors where the pins in those vertical links needed to be moved to get proper lift. Also, my 7ft BushHog on a MF 2660 has 2 different locations on the hog where you can put the large pins that connect to the 3pt lift arms -- lower holes and upper holes. If your hog has those you may need to move to using the lower set of bush hog holes to get better lift. Like I said -- just try combos until you get the lift you want. I very much doubt there is anything wrong.

Looking at the rear now, I see there are a couple different holes or combinations of holes on vertical lift arms, and the horizontal arms. I will just have to play with it some. It did how ever throw my 900lb+ cement ballast up in the air like it was nothing, so thats a plus. Thanks.
