Would that be Haun welding supply by any chance? Ive been to there Endicott place a few times. Nice people there. I know they have a bunch of locations around central NY.

They're even all the way up here in Plattsburgh...They are fantastic to work with!!

Mike, looks like it's set up for a spoolmate 100 -

Miller Multimatic 200 Auto-Set Elite Welder 907518

If you want all your eggs in one basket, that looks like a good setup - at 29 pounds (40 with a full spool of wire) it's gonna be a lot more portable than the 211 I just sold, so if it's limited to a 10 foot gun like the 211, you would at least have the option of moving the welder much easier than the approx. 90 pounds (with full spool) 211.

I liked the 211 with same spool gun OK, but some of my projects are a bit big for a 10 foot gun (longest miller recommends), unless I wanted to hang the welder from a jib crane overhead -

So when I found a deal on a 252 with double running gear, 15 foot gun, 30A spool gun (never used) and 2 full tanks and 30 pounds of wire left on the ONLY spool of wire the machine had ever seen, I bought it ($2500) and sold the 211 with spoolmate 100 to a friend whose needs are better matched to a smaller machine.

That was about 2 months ago, I've so far finished off that 30 pounds of wire and a 200 CF tank of C25 gas, and couldn't be happier with the 252.

If I were starting from scratch and didn't mind total downtime if ANYTHING went wrong with a multipurpose machine, that 200 looks like a good choice... Steve

Sorry bud I think I cofused you. I actually have a spoolmate 100 that my lws basically gave to me. Very generous of them and I appreciated it 100%, but I won't even waste my time or gas trying to mess with it. I am yet too see any positive results come out of one of those guns yet. Forget about perfect lol, I'm talking I haven't even seen anything that would make you say meh, maybe with some more tweaking i could find its sweet spots. Anything I ever saw was gut busting laugh out loud pooh pooh. Mine is collecting dust and has never been tried. I was hoping you had some pics of welds that would inspire me to give mine a shot. Otherwise back under the cart till she becomes a collectors item, lol.

Are you talking about all spool guns not having good results or just the Spoolmate 100? It's a lighter duty spool gun but should still do decent welds if set up properly. If the aluminum is too thick for the machine or not perfectly clean will cause problems no matter how you weld it. As far as a machine, I think the Multimatic 200 is a lot of money for what you actually get. By the time you set it up so you can do aluminum with a spool gun, you're around $2000 or better. I think these 3 in 1 machines are kind of gimmicky and relying on inexperienced consumers thinking they can weld anything with them, which isn't the case. Any DC stick welder can do TIG on steel and to TIG aluminum you need to spend some $$$$. I think you could buy a DC inverter for stick and TIG and a separate MIG machine for about the same price and get higher duty cycle to boot.

Im specifically talking about the spoolmate 100 bud. We run 30a guns at work, so im not a stranger to any of that make sure its clean stuff lol. I think I gotta give mine a shot and see what I can come up with, but I have never seen or heard anything positive about the 100. I was anxious to see some nice looking welds from one.

I can count the amount of different spool guns I've used on one hand, and still have fingers left over:laughing:. When I bought my V350-Pro I also ordered the Lincoln SG Spool gun. Only played with it just a little. I had a Cobramatic for years, ran it off my Linde VI-206 Mig machine. I sold it along with the Linde when I bought the V350-Pro.

Here is what the SG has done, the weak link in the system in the loose nut pulling the trigger!
