I'm sure the kids will name them at some point. I don't plan on it.

The "grazing" area is wooded, and I'm hoping they will over-graze to the point of killing off the blackberries. :) There are also some areas where we have brush growing that I'd just as soon kill off, so a collar, stake post, and length of cable are in the foreseeable future.

We'll see whether or not we butcher them. Depends on how much of a hassle they turn out to be.

I finally got a good weekend to paint this last weekend. The temperature was above 50, and it wasn't raining. I pressure washed the building on Friday, and painted on Saturday. It still needs another coat, and I need to paint the trim still, but hey, it is looking better!

In case anyone is wondering, the dark color matches the house, and from the road through the trees, it is hard to make out the house due to the dark color, which is how I like it. My neighbors have a more modern tan color, which is very visible through the trees.

On Sunday I dug the trench for the water and electrical. 95 feet long, 12" deep for the water, and 18" deep for the electrical. All dug by hand, but it only took about 3 hours. The ground is still too wet to put the tractor on, even if I had a backhoe. I've still got ruts from the last time I drove on the lawn!

I found a 100' roll of 3/4" irrigation pipe at the Home Depot for $15.96 (160 psi version) that I'll use for the water. The electrical will be run in a similar pipe (100 psi version) that I found for $10.98. I was all set to run schedule 40, but this will be much easier.

If you look closely, you'll see that the trench runs right up next to a post. This is where I'll pick up the electrical, so it doesn't have to run very far...

Closing in on the project, but my to do list keeps getting longer.

Still left to do:
1.) 2nd coat of paint, plus trim
2.) Run electricity to the mini-barn (shed).
3.) Add lights, outlets, light switch
4.) Put up divider wall between the bedding area and the hay/grain storage.
5.) Add half door inside to provide access between bedding area and hay/grain storage
6.) Put up electric fence
7.) Run water
8.) Buy the feeding and watering troughs
9.) Get a load of gravel in for the muddy areas around the shed
