That's slick, I never thought about putting it there!
I was wondering about putting one in place of the bucket or maybe be able to swap out a ssqa in place of the bucket then you could put a whole variety of things on it.

just skimmed through this thread so I may have missed this in it....

You can make a smaller mini excavator do what you want by taking the stumps out before you remove the tree.

I dig out the base and roots on the back side of the tree and use the excavator to push it over. saves a lot of time and i can be really on target as to where the tree falls
Kind of the David VS Goliath approach.

Also Place a big boulder or log on side where tree wants to fall so that when it goes over the stump gets pried out, then pick up tree and cut it up off ground to help save your back.
