It will be another left side run... 1/4" line rather than my old 1/2" line (that was never intended to be permanent anyway). I just have some interesting ideas for an easy-on, easy-off hose system since the grapple hoses are not used everyday or even close. So why risk damage or wear them out at the hinge point when they are only used 9.2% of the time???

I also must admit (with some embarrassment) that I am still dropping buckets and even the grapple on occasion. That crazy, messed-up, light-duty tool carrier has got to go! :mad: Anyway, I want a longer hose with a safety loop or two to prevent catastrophic "loss of fluid" accidents (read: hydraulic oil geysers) behind expensive homes that just got all new vinyl siding. :( Without some kind of grapple drop protection loop... it's only a matter of time. :rolleyes:

Dougster

Sounds like you might want to install a safety chain on that QA:D

What keeps happening. Do the locking arms work themselves to the unlock position or is it something else?:confused:
It is something else. I've completely rebuilt the two locking mechanisms and they appear to be working correctly. Something is just not right with the geometry and fit of the tool carrier into the QA attachments. Somehow, someway, it is just all too loose... including the pins themselves and the fit of the pins into the QA lower slots.

I need to study it more closely next decent break in the action I get. This should be an easily diagnosed problem. But on cursory inspection, everything looks okay... but the buckets keep falling off. 10 times in two days on the last job alone.

Wierd:eek: I would say find out what it is doing before jumping. It might be an easy fix. Have you talked to Jeremy about it?

It's been a nuisance issue since day one. Initially, we determined that the right side locking mechanism was not engaging. I replaced it and rebuilt the left side as well. Everything seemed reasonably fine for a while (very few bucket drops)... but now the buckets are dropping again like rain and my 401(k). :rolleyes:

Sounds like copable deniability (spelling again) to me. IE that guy that got fired last week must have done that. :D
Don't you mean plausible deniability?:rolleyes: :) Actually, that is the way engineering wanted it and stated it as a verbal. ;)

Dougster, A friend of mine has a NH TC35 with a backhoe, I borrowed it before I had my own hoe. The thing he warned me about was his quick detach bucket.
The story goes;
He had to have his wifes horse put down (old, ill) he dug the hole with his hoe. Just as the vet arrives, the sky opens up with torrential rain. They put the horse down with much emotional stress on his wife. His wife heads inside as he finishes the job, becoming drenched. He uses the FEL to push the horse in the hole and, the bucket comes off and lands on top of the horse.:eek: He feels he cannot go inside and ask for assistance so, he has to get into the hole to attach a chain to the bucket. He felt as though he were being paid back for some dastardly deed earlier in life.
